Primary Purpose Of The Job
To maintain and control all paint/phosphate-related processes, Washbay and Ovens to specific requisitions. Metrology environment awareness of CMM measurement.
- Check paint quality. Crosshatch check
- Responsible for Chemical Stores in paint shop
- Log of all data
- CMM Inspection in metrology measurement.
- Ordering of chemicals and ensure correct test are carried out by supplier
- Responsible for:
- Start up and controlling of degreasing machine
- Oven temperature and conveyer speed of Gel Oven, using the correct measurement equipment. (Squirrel).
- Part set-up in measurement holding fixture.
- Start up and shut down of paint shop
- Conveyor speed and oven temperature in paint shop, using the correct measuring equipment
- Salt spray test
- Update and maintain all control charts in their areas of responsibility
- Chemicals
- SPC and Data capture
- Computer literate
- Advance computer skills
- Communication skills
- Problem solving
- Attention to details
- Reporting
- NQF Level 4 / Grade 12
- Tertiary studies in Laboratory Chemicals
- Minimum 1 year experience in Laboratory environment

Our Client in the FMCG Industry is seeking to employ a Junior QC Lab Technician to their team based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry is preferred.
- 0-2 years’ working experience in a lab environment.
- No Prior professional experience in a QC lab is required, but an understanding of basic laboratory techniques and safety procedure is essential.
- Food quality control, food processing control, food production.
- Food Safety Systems.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Routine Testing: Perform various physical and chemical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); tests may include pH testing, viscosity measurements, and ingredient analysis.
- Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately record all test results and observations in laboratory test sheets and digital databases; manage the storage and control of retention samples.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct basic calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure consistent accuracy and reliability.
- Problem Identification: Immediately report any out-of-specification results or potential quality concerns to the supervisor; assist in troubleshooting production/process non-conformances, reworks, and customer complaints.
- Miscellaneous Tasks: Manage laboratory consumables and chemicals, ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and maintain good housekeeping standards.

Summary:
Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) provide critical information for diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention by conducting laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with limited supervision. Additional Information:

- Complete training in at least two rotations within the first six months of employment, as required by the hospital.
