Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical installations, wiring, and maintenance in both residential and commercial environments
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot security systems including:
  
  • Alarm systems
  • CCTV
  • Aircons
  • Intercoms
  • Gate Motors

• Work collaboratively with our national teams while being capable of independent decision-making and execution

• Travel between provinces when needed to support project requirements

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Certified Electrician (Trade Test / Red Seal or equivalent qualification)
• Minimum 23 years of professional electrical experience
• Demonstrated experience with security systems installation and integration (e.g. IDS, Paradox, Hikvision, Dahua, Centurion, etc.)
• Understanding of AC/DC systems, inverters, and backup power solutions
• Valid Drivers License
• PSIRA registration or eligibility (advantageous)
• Solar installation experience
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to relocate or travel nationally if required

We currently have an opportunity for an IT Security Technician. This position requires a variety of specialised skills and applied patience. A security technician has a single place to work from, however is required to support multiple, different, and forever changing environments. Communication (both verbally and written) needs to be excellent, empathy, and the ability to manage expectations effectively are sought after characteristics. This function is 'fast paced' and often measured on the ability of an individual to work within a growing team of varied skill sets. A successful security technician will be well versed in the overall Microsoft Security stack, however in transition of technology a sound knowledge of third party Security Protocols and applications.

1. General Security Checks:
   
   • Microsoft 365 Defender to monitor the security of Endpoint and remediate if needed
   • McAfee database Daily report analysed.
   • Forticloud to monitor traffic coming through our firewall.
   • Review IPS report daily.
   • Microsoft Intune to check device compliance and clean up stale devices on O365.
   • Rapid 7 to check on vulnerabilities on our server
2. Patching and Server Administration:
   
   • Daily the Rapid7 dashboard is checked for any vulnerabilities which are then patched. These include Software updates, registry edits and the configurations of the servers’ settings.
   • Servers are also rebooted after hours throughout the week and every Sunday the LMS servers are rebooted as they are required to be up during the week.
3. N-Able Patch Management:
   
   • Monthly Auto-patching takes place, where monthly Windows updates are pushed to our servers.
   • This includes manually approving updates for each server.
   • Maintenance of the N-Able server is done on a weekly basis, involving ensuring all our servers are reporting back to the N-Able servers and all client connectors are operational.
4. Identity and Access Management:
   
   • Create VPN accounts and domain accounts and issue credentials to the users.
   • Modify or remove User’s Access or rights on our network.
   • Keep an accurate register of all external users with access to our network, modified on a daily-weekly basis.
   • Creation of accounts on Osirium PAM solution.
   • Assist users with issues regarding Access to VPN.
5. Documentation:
   
   • Compilation of company security policies and Standard operating procedures.
   • Understanding CIS 18 Controls and reporting on.

ENVIRONMENT:

Your strong passion for Information Governance and Cyber Security and technical expertise is sought to fill the role of a Senior Security & Systems Engineer by a dynamic Healthcare Service Provider. Your core role will be taking charge of the optimization, monitoring, and support of internal and client-facing Security & Systems, both on-premises and in Azure and Office 365 cloud-based environments. The successful incumbent must possess a BSc. Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent, be MCSE, Azure & Office 365 Certified, and have Certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISA, CISSP, and OSCP. You will require 8-10 years of work experience as a Systems Administrator (both on-premises and cloud) and have solid knowledge of IT Service & Operation Management (ITSM & ITOM) tools and processes; IT Service Management SLAs & ITIL and/or COBIT frameworks.

DUTIES:

• Safely provision, deploy, manage, monitor, optimize, and decommission Azure and Office 365 and on-premises related systems and services.
• Follow best practice methodology for systems, cloud, architecture, and Cybersecurity.
• Develop and implement information security related processes/systems/services through project work.
• Provide input to Disaster Recovery plans.
• Perform risk assessments and recommend Information and Cybersecurity controls and technical measures (e.g., firewalls, data encryption).
• Plan and implement Information and Cybersecurity measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data.
• Support all IS Infrastructure, perform project work and weekly and monthly reporting.
• Contribute and participate in Information Security awareness drives and campaigns.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications –

• BSc. Computer Science Degree or Diploma (NQF 7) equivalent.
• MCSE, Azure and Office 365 Certification.
• Security+, CEH, CISA, CISSP, OSCP.

Experience/Skills –

• Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator (both on-premises and cloud).
• Knowledge of IT Service & Operation Management (ITSM & ITOM) tools and processes.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management SLAs.
• Knowledge of ITIL and/or COBIT frameworks.
