G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a Project Manager in the Electronic Security Solutions division based at our Head Office in Centurion, Gauteng reporting to the Regional Technical Manager.
This role is responsible for coordinating and project managing the implementation of allocated technology projects, in compliance with company policies and procedures including designing policies, overseeing customer service and ensuring achievement of budgeted financial targets and providing leadership on all allocated business.

Main Responsibilities
Operational Strategy
- Develop, implement and maintain a project management structure & strategy, standards and procedures to execute on the implementations of allocated projects
- Strategy and standards to be aligned with the G4S technology strategy
- Create and maintain a project management and service delivery strategy with short, medium- and long-term objectives – measure and report on these project plans and objectives on an ongoing basis
- Ensure and assist with technical support for all commissioning and support teams
- Demonstrate G4S' capabilities to deliver integrated security solutions
- Identifying new business opportunities which lead to the development of solutions
- Design, cost and present additional technology solutions and manage the successful project implementation
- Oversight of all allocated project implementations and ensuring the success thereof
Service Excellence
- Establish trusted long-term relationships with customers
- Facilitate the delivery of service as per the project plan and SLA requirements
- Create strong and trusted relationships with all G4S stakeholders
- Significantly influence customer satisfaction with G4S through knowledge of the industry ability to articulate solutions, value and service delivery
- Continually review and improve gross margin profitability and operational capability within the projects
- Ensure secure, safe, efficient and customer- oriented handling of technology solutions in support of customer service
- Adherence to local, national and international legislation and procedures
Financial
- Manage relationship between actual results, budgets and forecasts
- Gross Margin Management and Contract profitability
- Ensure no contractual penalties are incurred to negatively impact on project viability
People
- Ensure an effective project organisation is designed, maintained and developed
- Attend leadership training for Management and Supervision
- Manage relationships with G4S technicians and subcontracted resources
- Adequate channels of communication with related support staff are in place
- Compliance is maintained with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) regulations
- Leave planning is carried out to ensure project deliverables are met
Operational Excellence
- Implementation & Ownership of allocated projects and other Integrated Solutions across all areas of the business
- Providing detailed and timeous reporting on Operations to Customers and to the national project manager Coordinate customer service operations and find ways to ensure customer retention
- Ensure compliance with local and international laws (e.g. data protection)
- Manage contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners and other stakeholders
- Ensure Contract Profitability through Technology innovation
- Results of Project Implementations and other reviews are monitored
- Quality Management / Ops Process Management – adherence to quality standards
- Minuted monthly operational performance review sessions with all project stakeholders
- Monthly reviews with key suppliers and subcontractors
- Submit to vetting procedures on an ongoing basis
Technology Innovation
- Innovation and Advancement of Integrated Solutions required for projects
- Sourcing and Testing new Technologies
- Integration of new Technologies into G4S technology solutions
- Designing bespoke solutions for Customers
Learning & Growth
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks & participating in professional project management organisations
- Network and actively participate in User Groups & Associations and Trade Shows
- Completion of all online training modules such as but not limited to Integrated Solution Generalist, Risk Assessment Modules, G4S Ways of Selling etc
- Ensure product certification is maintained by technicians & subcontractors
Health and Safety
- Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
- Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Discuss all safety incidents
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
- Attend safety education and refresher programs
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
- Distribute safety information as and when required
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12
- Driver's Licence & Own reliable vehicle
- Role requires flexible and extended hours (including travelling may be required)
- Project Management Diploma or relevant tertiary qualification, ideally within the project management & Technology space
- Minimum 3 years' experience implementing and project managing Integrated Solutions
- Minimum 3 years people management experience
- Extensive understanding of electronic security products, system integration and implementation

Role Overview
The Senior Software Engineering Manager: Security
is responsible for embedding security engineering practices across the enterprise's platforms, applications, and integrations. This role ensures that security is built into every layer of software development — from architecture and design to deployment and operations. It combines deep technical expertise in cybersecurity with leadership, governance, and engineering delivery responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Strategy & Leadership
- Define and drive the software security engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise security and technology roadmaps.
- Act as the security champion within engineering, embedding DevSecOps practices across backend, mobile, digital channels, and integrations.
- Partner with the CISO, enterprise security, and architecture teams to set secure-by-design principles and frameworks.
2. Secure Software Engineering Delivery
- Oversee the integration of application security testing (SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA) into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure API, backend, mobile, and digital channel platforms are secured against evolving threats.
- Lead initiatives for zero trust architecture, encryption, identity & access management, and secure APIs.
- Govern secure coding standards, threat modelling, and vulnerability management.
3. Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure software engineering practices comply with regulatory frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, POPIA, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO
Oversee risk assessments, penetration testing, and incident response readiness.
Align software engineering controls with enterprise GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) frameworks.
Implement secure observability and monitoring for proactive threat detection in engineering systems.
4. Leadership & People Development
- Lead and mentor security engineers, DevSecOps specialists, and secure coding champions.
- Build organizational capability in security engineering skills, tools, and practices.
- Foster a culture of security-first thinking across all engineering teams.

5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field (mandatory).
- Postgraduate qualification (MSc in Cybersecurity/IT, MBA) – advantageous.
- Professional Certifications (preferred/required):
- Security: CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
- Application Security: CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- Cloud Security: AWS/Azure/GCP Security Specialty.
- DevSecOps: GIAC, Kubernetes Security Specialist, or equivalent.
- ITIL or governance frameworks – advantageous.
Relevant Experience
- 10–12 years' experience in software/security engineering, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles.
