Neurodivergence Snapshot: ADHD (medicated) and slightly on the spectrum. Mainly sensory issues - she is very sensitive to clothing, is a picky eater, enjoys picking her skin, nails and hair as a sensory input. She is very clever - but she rushes through her work, and if not that interested in a topic struggles to focus.
Support Style: currently in group OT once a week (social skills); physio once a week to strengthen core and gross motor skills and therapy with a psychologist once a month. Strengths: reading, vocab, extremely creative and artistic (very talented), excellent general knowledge. Interests: art, her dog, basketball, music, roblox, slime. Weakness: math, handwriting (due to rushing), can be impulsive. She likes having fidgets to help her focus and keep her hands busy - regulate I suppose. She finds benefits in brain breaks. Calmness and a sense of humour are most beneficial to keeping her in good spirits and engaged.
Working hours: Monday – Friday: 09h00 – 12h00
Duties: Home School Tutor required to engage and teach in Grade 4 curriculum, ensure concepts are grasped, work is submitted and work is understood. Candidate will be required to make learning fun and engaging by using different creative tools and not just sitting at a desk (although necessary)
