Purpose

The Nutrition Services Assistant I works independently following standardized routines under the direction of the Nutrition Services Lead. The incumbent interfaces and problem-solves with students, school administrative staff, nutrition services colleagues, teachers, and non-licensed school staff. Because this job involves frequent interaction with students and parents, the position requires a high level of professional decorum, calm, and the ability to act as a role model to young people. The incumbent does not have supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance and assistance to regular, temporary, or substitute employees, as required.

Essential Job Functions:

We provide transformational learning programs to vulnerable children within a childcare setting. We offer FREE Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K educational childcare/daycare programs serving 16 counties with numerous centers across the state of Arkansas. AEL is more than just daycare! We are educators, even as early as 6 weeks old we are implementing an education curriculum. We also offer a variety of child and family support services in a loving, caring, and safe environment.

NOW HIRING A Program Assistant

The Program Assistant/Teacher Aide is an entry level position and will work to ensure comprehensive Head Start services are provided to children and families enrolled in the program. This position will utilize the Center environment to assist staff with creating rich learning opportunities that build on daily routines and support each child's development and education.

Education And Experience

  • 18 years old or older
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Georgia’s Pre-K Program is a state funded educational program for all age eligible 4-year-old children in Georgia. The purpose of Georgia’s Pre-K Program is to prepare children for success in Kindergarten and later school years. The Pre-K Assistant Teacher is responsible for instructing 4-year-old's, based on needs of each child, and the requirements of the program under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.

As an Assistant Teacher, you are:

  • Caring! Follow all licensing guidelines, company standards and grant program requirements to ensure the daily care of every child in your classroom.
  • Engaged! Develop your ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children, as well as effectively communicate with families.
  • Knowledgeable! Complete extensive training that provides insight on child care, preschool and development topics.
  • Creative! Implement curriculum while creating fun, interactive learning experiences for the children.

We want energetic, dependable, passionate individuals who have:

  • Associates Degree or Technical Certification Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related or an active CDA in Preschool.
  • Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
  • The ability to meet state requirements for education and our center requirements.
  • Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
