Employee Relations, Disciplinary & Case Management (e.g., CCMA)

Compliance Reporting and Advanced Analytics

Organizational Structure Management

Onboard historical HR data from legacy SAP HR systems (e.g., positions, qualifications, training, uniforms).

Integrate SAP HCM with group-shared services and comply with Transnet-specific payroll and pension formatting rules.

Work collaboratively with functional leads, technical teams, and project managers from IBM and the client.

Provide go-live and post-go-live support.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

5+ years experience with SAP HCM implementations across core and advanced modules

Prior experience working in or with government-owned entities (GOEs) or aviation sector

Proven experience with full-cycle SAP HCM projects, including data migration and integration

Strong understanding of South African HR legislation and compliance requirements

Ability to configure, test, train users, and troubleshoot SAP HCM issues

South African nationality (preferred due to regulatory and project needs)

Preferred Qualifications

SAP HCM certification (associate or professional level)

Prior involvement in projects with South African Airways or related public sector entities

Knowledge of Transnet-specific payroll integration formats

Purpose of Position

The Project Manager will play a central role in ensuring that the main elements of the project are achieved in a timely and effective manner.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management

  • Ensure that the project is implemented according to plan from the beginning to the end, and that agreed objectives have been met.
  • Ensure implementation of the agreed-upon funding proposal, assist with revising the proposal and budget over time if required, based on input and feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with individuals and groups supporting the delivery of any activity, while determining roles and responsibilities based on activity requirements and timeframes.
  • Ensure that project documentation is well managed and available to relevant stakeholders, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation & Reporting (PMER) and for audit purposes.
  • Ensure that relevant indicators are recorded, tracked and reported.

Financial Management and Controls

  • Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines and milestones to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Conducting regular field visits to ensure effective implementation of projects activities.
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.

Reporting

  • To provide quarterly and monthly narrative reports to the IR Programmes Department.
  • Develop regular projects updates and timely narrative activity reports, as required.

Role Overview

We are seeking experiencedProject Managers to join our team and lead the delivery of projects across two main streams:

  • Construction & Infrastructure Projects – overseeing medium-to-large-scale builds with a focus on technical delivery, compliance, and stakeholder management.
  • Commercial & Fit-Out Projects – managing corporate, retail, and design-focused projects where speed, detail, and client service are key.

The ideal candidate will have strong project leadership skills, proven industry experience, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of contractors, consultants, and internal staff.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate procurement, logistics, and contract management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular progress reporting.
  • Troubleshoot challenges and drive continuous improvement on project delivery.
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant degree/diploma in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Construction & Infrastructure stream: 5–7 years’ experience managing large-scale construction/infrastructure projects.
  • Commercial & Fit-Out stream: 3–5 years’ experience managing commercial fit-out, corporate, or retail projects.
  • Strong contractor, supplier, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication abilities.
  • Solid financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2) advantageous.

About the role:

This role is responsible for leading projects from concept to completion while building strong relationships with stakeholders and clients. The role involves providing direction and control for all project deliverables, including budget and resource management, while serving as the key communicator on project status, risks, and challenges. Reporting to the Content Team Lead/Account Director, you will manage the workload for a team of 18 professionals. You'll be supported by the Group Account Director, Social Media Manager, and Creative Lead in delivering exceptional project outcomes.

What you will be doing:

  • Work collaboratively with clients to ensure seamless and successful project and product outcomes
  • Coordinate work across client brands, ensuring effective distribution of data insights throughout the client's ecosystem
  • Facilitate interagency coordination as required for project success
  • Contribute to account growth as part of a cohesive team
  • Manage projects end-to-end with clear, regular communication on milestones, targets, goals, and deadlines
  • Plan digital projects from initial stages through final delivery
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout project lifecycles
  • Continuously evaluate working methods and processes to recommend improvements
  • Review project resources and provide capacity analysis relative to project demands
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements across all parties involved
  • Oversee project financial budgets, communicating cost implications, budget changes, and spending adjustments to stakeholders
  • Work across digital products and social media services

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Exceptional client engagement abilities with proven skills in organising, influencing, and building strong client relationships
  • Superior project management expertise to function as a product owner working directly with clients
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects while collaborating with stakeholders
  • Capability to develop and implement effective processes for data gathering and storage
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills using established project methodologies for kick-off, discovery, and other project stages
  • Excellent communication skills tailored to different audiences
  • Team leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor junior team members
  • Comprehensive understanding of all relevant products and services and how to leverage this knowledge for account advantage
  • Experience integrating with client-side teams while maintaining high-quality agency service standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software applications
  • Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector preferred
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to organise and influence clients/brand teams while building effective working relationships proactively. You'll take ownership of projects while ensuring clear communication, adherence to deadlines, and delivery of exceptional results that meet or exceed client expectations.
