To facilitate Safety, Health and Environment, training and development as required whilst keeping him/ herself current with all industry related education, training and development best practice.

Location: The successful candidate may be based anywhere in South Africa.

Key responsibilities:

• Planning and preparing for training sessions by preparing training material and ensuring that all the equipment is functional.
• To present training material at the appropriate level in relation to audience's existing skills, knowledge and taking into account any potential learning barriers presented by language, cultural, socio-economic and other factors by using the most appropriate training methods.
• To facilitate training in accordance with SAQA/SETA/QCTO/NOSA requirements and Quality Management Systems.
• To moderate and assess learners in accordance with the SETA/QCTO/NOSA code of conduct
• To provide confidential assessment feedback to learners in accordance with the SETA/QCTO/NOSA Quality Management System requirements.
• To complete all Portfolios of Evidence in accordance with the relevant assessment guides and Quality Management System work instructions, and to ensure the security and confidentiality thereof.
• To market NOSA by answering client queries, identifying and utilising marketing opportunities during the presentation of training.
• To engage in continuous self-development activities such as seminars, or other relevant training courses, in order to keep up-to-date with NOSA products, safety, health, environment and ETD best practices.
• To ensure personal responsibility for assessor/moderator registrations with all relevant SETA’s are current and valid and ensure Head of Training receives copies of these.
li>Adhere and conform to the NOSA Quality Management System.

• Minimum 2 years HSE training experience.
• Minimum 5 years industry experience.
• Accredited Train the Trainer, with registration as Assessor and Moderator.
• National Diploma in Safety Management, SAMTRAC certificate or equivalent.
• ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 certificates (advantageous).
• Drivers licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Willing to travel.
• Fluent in English and at least 1 of the other national languages, will be advantageous.

To ensure that the Distribution Centre is Health and Safety compliant, the HSE Officer serves to ensure emergency preparedness and incident response at each of our Distribution centres.

Contractor Management

1. Understand the legal principles under which the permit to work process is defined and conduct contractor audits.
2. Understand and apply the legal principles pertaining to the OHS scope of authority and issue permits to work limited to that scope.
3. Draw up and maintain an audit schedule and programme for contractor audits.
4. Maintain an up-to-date database of contractors and service providers who have undergone audits and possess valid permits to work.
5. Carry out contractor and visitor inductions, conduct contractor audits, and issue permits to work for various Supply Chain Business units.
6. Compile statistical analytics, define KPI objectives, and present milestones achieved to management.

The company currently has a vacancy for a motivated, professional and attentive to detail Health and Safety Officer to join their team and drive company Health and Safety initiatives and programmes. This position requires someone who is energetic and able to work in a fast paced, pressurized environment. The candidate will be based in Carletonville, however local road travel will be required between various sites and head office.

The successful candidate will :

• Ensure compliance with Company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including safety induction and training
• Promote and ensure adherence to the safety policy and procedures
• Keep management up to date and informed about legislative requirements regarding health and safety requirements.

• Review and update emergency procedures as and when necessary

• Investigate any accident, near-miss incident, dangerous occurrence or occupational disease that occurred in the place of work,
• Design and implement responses to limit or prevent a recurrence thereof
• Compile and submit health and safety related reports to management and third parties
• Liaise with Department of Employment and Labour as and when required i.e. regarding Sec 24 incidents.
• Responsible for monitoring contractors and venders working on Isinyithi sites, to ensure that Health & Safety practices are applied and upheld at all times

To coordinate, support, and advise Masslift on all aspects regarding Health & Safety. To develop, establish, manage, and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health & Safety are adhered to.

• A recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (or similar)
