POSITION INFO:
A globally renowned company that designs and manufactures high-speed packaging and bottling equipment is seeking a Field Sales Representative to join their South African team based in Lanseria, Johannesburg . The company services clients across the Sub-Saharan Africa region with a focus on engineering excellence and strong after-sales support in the beverage industry.
Purpose of the Role:
To actively identify, pursue, and convert sales opportunities, supporting strategic growth targets by promoting a comprehensive portfolio of equipment, services, and solutions to customers in the beverage and packaging sector. This is a customer-facing, target-driven role requiring strong technical and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the achievement of overall sales targets as a core member of the regional sales team.
- Promote a full range of product offerings, including:
- New machinery and bottling equipment
- Spare parts and consumables
- Retrofit and rebuild programs
- IT-based solutions and upgrades
- Overhaul services and SLA agreements
- Identify, follow up, and develop leads for new and existing clients, building strong pipelines and growth strategies.
- Manage the full sales cycle from customer inquiries, technical discussions, pricing, and quotations through to final delivery and post-sale support.
- Collaborate with internal departments and product specialists to deliver tailored, value-adding solutions.
- Maintain and update CRM systems for forecasting, reporting, and opportunity tracking.
- Travel to client sites across Southern Africa to conduct product presentations, build relationships, and participate in project meetings and strategic planning sessions.
- Coordinate client communication across departments to ensure high levels of service, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
- Support ad-hoc and strategic projects requiring customer interfacing and sales coordination.
- National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred)
- At least 5 years of technical experience in the beverage packaging industry
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical sales
- Strong communication, negotiation, and project coordination skills
- Proficiency in SAP, CRM systems, and MS Office
- Must be willing and able to travel regionally and internationally as required
- Knowledge of industry-leading packaging equipment portfolios (advantageous)
- Proven ability to grow and manage key accounts within technical industries

ENVIRONMENT:
LEAD revenue growth by building and executing on the go-to-market strategy as the next Head of Sales – Engineering SaaS wanted by a provider of sustainable and cost-effective Solar Energy to join its team. This will include setting strategy, generating pipeline, closing key accounts, and eventually building out a team. You’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing, PR, Product, and Development to ensure a cohesive and high-impact customer journey. The ideal candidate must have at least 7+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, including closing complex deals and building go-to-market functions & experience selling to technical buyers (Engineers, Developers, Project Managers) in sectors like Energy, Infrastructure, or Enterprise SaaS. You will also need a track record of driving revenue in new markets and building cross-regional sales and in recording successful sales in at least one of the EU or US markets.
DUTIES:
Sales Leadership & Strategy -
- Design and own the sales strategy aligned with company growth goals and market dynamics.
- Prioritise entry and growth in EU, US, MENA, and SSA markets based on demand and opportunity size.
- Establish and manage the sales pipeline using CRM systems and outbound sales tools to drive sales growth and expansion.
- Develop and agree on clear KPIs with the CEO and report regularly to the leadership team.
Customer Acquisition & Relationship Building -
- Identify, engage, and close deals with target customers, including Developers, EPCs, IPPs, and Consultants, in the Solar PV industry.
- Lead consultative sales processes, understanding both commercial and technical buying drivers.
- Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and conferences globally.
Cross-functional Collaboration -
- Work closely with the existing Marketing, Brand, and PR team to align messaging, campaigns, and funnel strategies.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to understand the platform, provide feedback, and influence roadmap decisions based on customer needs.
- Help shape onboarding, support, and customer success strategies for long-term retention.
Process & Team Development -
- Develop a scalable sales playbook and refine it based on performance and feedback.
- Recruit, coach, and manage high-performing sales talent as the company scales.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ Years of B2B SaaS sales experience, including closing complex deals and building go-to-market functions.
- Experience selling to technical buyers (Engineers, Developers, Project Managers) in sectors like Energy, Infrastructure, or Enterprise SaaS.
- Track record of driving revenue in new markets and building cross-regional sales.
- Track record in successful sales in at least one of the EU or US markets.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills – able to work with marketers, PR, and technical teams.
- Deep empathy for customers and strong product acumen.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of thriving in a lean, fast-moving startup.
Nice-to-haves –
- Familiarity with Solar PV development, Engineering software, or Energy industry workflows.
- Experience in early-stage SaaS, especially with ARR $1M.
- Based in Cape Town or willing to spend a significant amount of time there.

Our client based in Richard’s Bay is seeking a Sales Specialist to perform all administrative duties as an assistant to the Spare Parts Manager.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesAccountabilities:
- Daily – Open sales quotes on SAP B1
- Daily – Review RFQ’s via portal and conduct reconciliation of RFQs
- Daily – Prioritise list of received RFQs – attend to simple ones first, then attend to more complex RFQs
- Daily – Prepare and submit quotations to customer/s in response to commodity, quantity, price, lead-time and expected delivery date
- Daily – Follow up and reconcile on all open RFQs to prevent age of quote requests reaching 7 days
- Daily – Download new orders and amended orders from Ariba; Process on SAP system and confirm on Ariba
- Weekly – Conduct weekly reconciliations of orders and change orders on Ariba (Customer Interface system)
- Weekly – Follow-up on, or coordinate logistics of customer orders
- Weekly – Expedite all open orders and compile and submit expediting list to customer
- As received – Open repairable files on SAP and track quotation process progress, providing client with regular updates
- Weekly & Monthly – Capture KPI’s on the KPI spreadsheet, weekly report template and Commercial Dashboard
- Update weekly priorities on Commercial Dashboard
- Compile or contribute towards order intake report, forecasting tracker, in-house open orders list and monthly report
- Carry out reasonable ad hoc tasks required within the department
- Participate and comply with HSE as per Fives requirements

Education and Qualifications:
- Matric
- Sales or Supply Chain Diploma or Certificate will be advantageous
Relevant Experience:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel Proficiency
- Computer Literate
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good planning & organisational skills
- 3 – 5 years previous sales experience in a technical / engineering field will be advantageous
- Experience with SAP B1 will be advantageous
