Job Purpose
Inbound or outbound policy sales, based on leads and campaigns. Initiate the customer relationship and meet various KPIs. Connect with the customer, conduct needs analysis, and propose customer solutions. Requires solid knowledge of products, their characteristics, and the market, with a focus on growing the brand.
Responsibilities
- Customer Relationships Development : Make calls to allocated customers to develop new relationships or serve as a first point of contact.
- Customer Needs Clarification : Interview customers following a complex sales script to clarify requirements and make detailed notes.
- Set Objectives for Sales Calls : Use standard materials to present to customers, ask relevant questions, and evaluate interest to identify further needs.
- Sell Customer Propositions : Identify products that meet customer needs, explain benefits, and influence purchase decisions within company policies.
- Operational Compliance : Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory codes relevant to the role.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Data : Schedule callbacks, document interactions, and maintain quality data for customer retention and business development.
- Performance Management : Prioritize tasks to meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards, utilizing performance systems to improve.
- Personal Capability Building : Stay updated on policies and regulations through online training and assessments.
- Sales Opportunities Creation : Identify potential new customers through referrals and recommendations.
Education
- Grade 12/SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential)
- FAIS and RE5 qualification (Essential)
- Class of Business – product knowledge (Essential)
Experience
- 2-3 years telephonic sales experience (Essential)
- Experience in Financial Services Industry (Advantageous)

POSITION INFO:
As an independent financial brokerage, our client provides a wide array of Financial Services to its Professional clients in the market including Risk, Investment, and Estate Planning. They pride themselves in providing exceptional client services unmatched within the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Pitch our business to potential new clients and schedule appointments with existing clients for financial advisor visits (Cold-Calling)
- Source leads from various databases.
- Work closely with financial advisors and their teams.
- Schedule appointments based on financial advisors’ diaries.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Ability to communicate effectively with their niche clientele
- Contribute significantly to new business revenue.
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to demonstrate great listening skills.
- Exceptional at building rapport with clients.
- Displays patience and empathy towards customers.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
- Basic or advanced troubleshooting skills, depending on the role.

About the role :
Reporting to the Head of Sales - Commercial Lending (TBC), this role is responsible for providing phone-based outreach to brokers to pitch our client’s lending products, provide a basic overview of the value offering, understand the broker’s business, pitch our client’s lending products and solicit new loan inquiries.
The objective of the role is to activate and engage with broker prospects that are somewhat known to the client but that we do not contact frequently enough or get business from.
Success in the role will be reflected in deals written from brokers that the tele sales person contacts.
Key Activities :
Consistent outbound calls to brokers to market our client’s products and build a Qualified Account pool
Ensure accurate data is maintained in our client’s customer relationship management software (Salesforce)
Provide scenarios and qualified contact introductions to the client’s team
Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring appropriate information, appetite confirmation and reliable action items following conversations with brokers
Answer queries from Brokers at a high level
Ensure accurate data management in Salesforce and that all daily follow up items are actioned in a timely manner
Able to work 9am-5pm Australian time (12am-8am South African time)
A customer-centric and solutions focused mindset and the willingness to make a high volume of phone calls is fundamental to success in the role
An enthusiastic and professional phone manner
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to understand the functioning of a CRM database and how to accurately manage data
Confidence to deal with external stakeholders
Ability to work autonomously and to contribute and work as part of a team
Self-motivated with a desire to continually exceed expectations
Experience in the banking, non-bank and finance industries is helpful though not essential
Working knowledge of the banking industry, Australian housing market, and regulatory environment is helpful though not essential
