Contractor Management

  1. Understand the legal principles under which the permit to work process is defined and conduct contractor audits.
  2. Understand and apply the legal principles pertaining to the OHS scope of authority and issue permits to work limited to that scope.
  3. Draw up and maintain an audit schedule and programme for contractor audits.
  4. Maintain an up-to-date database of contractors and service providers who have undergone audits and possess valid permits to work.
  5. Carry out contractor and visitor inductions, conduct contractor audits, and issue permits to work for various Supply Chain Business units.

This position requires someone who is energetic and able to work in a fast paced, pressurized environment. The candidate will be based in Carletonville, however local road travel will be required between various sites and head office.

The successful candidate will :

  • Ensure compliance with Company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including safety induction and training
  • Promote and ensure adherence to the safety policy and procedures

  • Practical understanding of the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 & 9001
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a production/manufacturing/engineering/construction environment in a full time health & safety role
  • Extensive knowledge of the OHS Act & Regulations
  • Registration with SAIOSH and SACPCMP advantageous
  • Hands on practical approach to the job
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
