We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our dynamic team in the Wine industry. Based in Brackenfell, Cape Town you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products throughout our warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily maintenance of scanner
• Ensure accurate picking of products
• Correct packing of stock on pallets
• Stock taking ensuring accuracy of stock count
• Assist with stock put away – using forklifts, reach trucks and ride on pallet jacks
• Report an incident or suspicious activity within the warehouse to manager immediately

Qualifications

• Grade 11
• Valid Forklift License and or a valid Reach Truck license (Beneficial)
• 2 years of Warehouse experience within the FMCG environment

• Physically receive local and international shipments.
• Record quantities and stock received in ERP system.
• Scan part numbers of staged stock and place onto binning trolleys.
• Bin stage stock.
• Scan part numbers of stock on binning trolleys and confirm.
• GRV quantity to bin locations.
• Physically move stock on binning trolleys to respective bin locations.
• Physically bin stock
• Relabel selected stock.
• Move damaged stock to quarantine area.
• Perform quality check, report and reject damaged stock.
• Check stock against shipment documentation.
• Offload cargo and physically stage stock.

Qualifications:

• Grade: 12 Matric Certificate (Essential).

Skills:

• Computer Literate.
• Work well under pressure and maintain good customer relations.
• Good communication (oral and written) & interpersonal relations skills.
• Customer focused with a results driven approach.
• Pro-active, highly motivated and pay attention to detail.
• Work independently though being a team player.
• Code EB drivers licence.

Experience:

• Relevant experience in a parts environment - 1 year.

Responsibilities
Job Overview:
Safe offloading of the Bulk and Raw Materials for storage and distribution to Warehouse areas in accordance with standard procedures while maintaining quality, safety and efficiency standards.

• Unloading and loading of Raw Materials, Grit, Corn, Oil, Nitrogen, Seasoning, Corrugates, Pallets and Packaging Materials
• Bulk offloading of Corn, Oil and Corn Meal into Silos and Oil Tanks, Nitrogen, Gas
• Transport raw materials to production workstations
• Keeping RMS stores clean and maintaining GMP practices including housekeeping, stacking pallets and disposing of waste including obsolete stock
• Checking the Forklift, filling in the daily check sheet to ensure compliance on MHE
• Compliance with company policy
• Ensure own safety and that of peers
• Complete daily checklist of the Forklift and attend shift handover and training as and when requested
• Conduct daily activities in alignment with SOP's trained on by Logistics Manager and Logistics Coordinator
• Printing and submission of weighbridge reports
• Daily stock reporting for all Bulk Materials
• Daily temperature monitoring and controlling main store
• Maintain AIB standards and GMP Practices and EHS
• Raise Near misses and BBS and adhere to EHS rules and policies including standards
• Complete cycle count activities
• Stack Raw Materials according to Allergen principles and Food safety standards
• Cleaning material spillages
• Manage Production stock returns as per return processes
• Adhere to FEFO stock policies
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Forklift Driver license

• Responsible for picking materials for production. Ensure that stock is picked as per the production picking lists and provided to production on time and in full. Material shortages to be reported real time and documented. Accurate qty’s and correct material codes.
• Offloading of multiple deliveries received daily with accurate completion of required documentation.
• Valid Forklift License Code F1A / F2A + K
• General housekeeping function to be performed and maintained daily to ensure food safety compliance and EHS compliance within area of normal activity.
• Adhere to all EHS and Food safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Complete daily and weekly food safety inspections that are applicable to functional area within the RMS.
• Report all faults and breakdowns of relevant Forklifts and equipment to Store person.
• Maintain daily cleanliness of forklift machinery/equipment and general area of work activity.
• Ad Hoc duties as and when required.
