We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Coordinator to join our client's team in Piet Retief. The Environmental Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and overseeing environmental programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with local, regional, and national environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
  2. Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental management software.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

MAIN PURPOSE

  • Identify trends, high-risk areas, and opportunities for improvement, initiating proactive measures and strategic support.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
  • SAMTRAC or equivalent recognized SHE qualification.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent (advantageous).

Experience:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or coordination role.
  • Proven experience in HSE program implementation, training facilitation, and promoting compliance across multiple sites or regions.
  • Computer skills (MS Office package)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Advanced knowledge of MHSA, OHSAS 18001, POPIA, and environmental legislation applicable to industrial operations.
