Purpose of the role
Freedom Stationery is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Receiving / Inbound SCM Clerk to join the Supply Chain and Logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving goods, verifying documentation, updating inventory systems (ERP/WMS), and managing accurate stock put-away. This role plays a key part in maintaining stock integrity, supporting supply chain efficiency, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect goods from internal/external suppliers and customer returns.
- Complete inspection checklists and ensure all documentation (e.g., delivery notes, GRVs) is accurate and aligned.
- Accurately capture goods received into the ERP/WMS (e.g., SYSPRO).
- Segregate and verify items before allowing stock movement into the warehouse.
- Identify and record any damaged or non-conforming goods.
- Conduct physical put-away of goods in line with system instructions.
- Maintain documentary records for internal auditing and planning.
- Assist with monthly stock counts and inventory control.
- Respond to internal queries from Admin, Distribution, and Accounts.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Receiving procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Matric ( Grade 12 )
- B.Com in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years in a receiving or warehouse/logistics role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SYSPRO, SAP, MRP).
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
- Physically fit to carry out warehouse duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence. li >Own reliable vehicle is required.
- Must reside in Mount Edgecombe or the surrounding areas.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

- Sound knowledge of medical stock and billing.
- Perform secretarial and stock controller duties as per job description.
- Good telephone etiquette.
- Perform administrative support including ordering supplies and patient billing.
- Must be able to work with high-value products and ensure accuracy in billing.
- At least 1-year experience in an administrative capacity; hospital experience is an advantage.
- Matric qualification.
- Excellent computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, Microsoft Office).
- Knowledge of hospital systems (e.g., SAP, Impilo) is an advantage.
- Customer service experience.
