Responsible for the technical support of the design team in the design, analysis and testing of satellite communication products , including various complex antennas, power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers and cavity filters.
Support product development evaluations and final product characterization testing, working with the development team to provide testability planning, strategies and methodologies.
Responsible for developing and executing test solutions for RF products from concept and development through to the manufacturing process.
Job Requirements- Must have a completed - MTech/MSc/MEng or PhD qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
- 3.5-10 years working experience in a RF development environment.
- Design experience in power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers and cavity filter design.
- Experience with/in: RF metrology (e.g. digital modulation, Spectrum and Network Analysers, Oscilloscope, Power Meter, Signal Generator, and Power Supplies).
- schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer)
- RF and analog simulation tools (Microwave Office, LTSpice)
- designing or testing for RTCA DO-160 compliance
- Min 3.5 years' experience working as a RF Engineer post grad.
- Design and develop circuits from concept through to manufacturing of a range of RF and analogue electronic products.
- Sub-system specification in order to translate the requirements derived from upper level (system specification) into more detailed technical specifications of how the subsystem should function internally to create the required responses to certain input signals.
- Ensuring that reliability requirements are met in the design: these include E.M.C (electromagnetic compatibility), safety, manufacturability and thermal design aspects.
- Support production in terms of trouble shooting if there is any issue with the existing test programs impacting customer delivery.
- Specify and recommend test resources, processes, capabilities, and technology to enhance production capability.
- Responsible for lab work during the prototype phase of product development.
- Frequent usage of RF equipment including: Spectrum and Network Analysers, Oscilloscope, Power Meter, Signal Generator, and Power Supplies.
- Adopt and/or participate in technological innovation or methodologies. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other members of the discipline, including production.
- Support the system engineering with low-level design validation. Contribute to the system-level or conceptual design.
- Assist with Industrialisation of prototype designs.
- Assist with Production and field return failure analysis.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor the existing radio frequency network and ensure maximum availability, with minimum downtime.
- Maintain, repair and upgrade the existing radio frequency network, of high sites and repeater sites.
- In consultation with the Network Planning Personnel, identify areas where RF coverage is inadequate and commission new sites in these areas.
- Manage an effective preventative maintenance plan, pertaining specifically to the radio frequency network.
- Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade the network of telemetry field units, used to tests customer’s vehicles.
- Manage an effective inventory control system, relating specifically to the various components of the radio frequency network.
- Manage configuration control and engineering change procedures and documentation.
- Manage all fixed assets relating to the network and ensure that they are maintained in a serviceable condition at all times.
- Ensure that any work carried-out to the radio frequency network is completed in the most cost-effective manner.
- Liaise with internal / external customers on issues pertaining to the radio frequency network.
- Assist with new developments and modifications, pertaining to the radio frequency network.
- National Diploma, Higher National Diploma or a B-Tech Degree (Electrical Engineering - light current).
- Minimum of five years’ work experience, obtained within a telecommunications environment.
- Technical knowledge, relating specifically to RF systems, communication systems and antennas.
- Possess good fault finding and analytical skills.
- Possess good administrative skills.
- Be prepared to travel.
- Be computer literate (Linux, MS Windows, MS Office) and a self-starter.

An RF design company is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team as an Antenna Design Engineer.
You will be responsible for the design, simulation, prototyping, and testing of advanced antenna systems. You’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop high-performance antennas for diverse platforms and frequencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize antennas (e.g., patch, monopole, dipole, and array) using industry-standard simulation tools.
- Perform electromagnetic simulations (using tools such as CST, HFSS, and FEKO).
- Conduct lab testing and validation using VNAs, anechoic chambers, and other RF equipment.
- Collaborate with Mechanical and Systems Engineers to integrate antenna designs into products.
- Generate technical documentation and reports.
- Participate in R&D initiatives to explore emerging technologies and novel antenna concepts.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
