Brief Role Description
To plan, define, and lead all departmental project activities, by ensuring that all units are tracked, processed, audited, reworked and signoff, throughout the various End Of Line checkpoints and audits areas, within the prescribed project timelines, enabling a good quality product and effortless management signoff process. Drive product improvements based on top faults detected by investigating route causes and escalating to the causing area to improve the Direct Run Rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and driving all projects related activities for QAVM EOL, during the different phases by ensuring that units are tracked and routed through the correct processes and audited within the agreed timelines.
  • Identifying and understanding all new product and process part changes for MY and New model introduction, and presenting to team, for ease of understanding, and inspection, thereby enabling a good sign off product.
  • Representing QAVM EOL at all inter divisional projects meetings, and assist, identify and highlight non-conformities and opportunities for improvements, in order to streamline or improve processes.
  • Performing and approving all fitment trails of new and changed product parts, prior to introduction with responsible departments, to ensure that parts conform to the required quality specifications, and the desired quality standards are achieved.
  • Preparing and presenting project units to management, with the knowledge and background of each unit, and with the relevant information and documentation, to ensure units conform to the required quality acceptant standard, for management signoff.
  • Providing information of ECR's and deviations to the team, thereby ensuring that the team is aware and understands the changes and the expectation of quality, when con-ducting inspection, or DKA audits, to ensure a good signoff quality product.
  • Escalating the process when quality requirements are not met, to ensure that early preventative actions are taken by the responsible stakeholders, thereby ensuring deadlines are met. (Thorough problem investigation and presentation on a management level)
  • Generating project investments requirements, and control expenditure within the approved budget and help to set financial objectives with QAVM EOL Manager.

Qualification Requirements And Experience Needed

  • National Diploma/Degree in an Engineering field, B-Tech in Quality Management is an added advantage
  • Understanding of the vehicle build process and the required quality output thereof. eg, EOL & Assembly)
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle release processes
  • Knowledge of vehicle components and systems.
  • Working knowledge of the equipment, fixtures and tools used in the shop.

Your Role at

As a quality-focused Senior Quality Engineer, you'll be part of a small FINTECH squad and responsible for owning and driving the squad's testing strategy and quality practises. You'll work across manual and automated testing, contribute to Agile delivery, and help evolve our standards, tooling, and methods. What You'll Do:

Embedded in a Software team

  • Be a domain expert in a business-critical billing and subscription product area
  • Understand and be a part of the lifecycle of the features that are delivered
  • Work with stakeholders, alongside engineers to understand the business need and solution
  • Shared ownership of getting the solution over the line

Define and Drive Test Strategy

  • Own and evolve the quality strategy for your squad
  • Plan, define, and document test strategies and plans
  • Script and sign off manual test cases
  • Analyse requirements and provide early feedback
  • Continuously improve test methods, scope, and coverage
  • Drive innovation in QA practices, tools, and frameworks

Build and Maintain Automation Testing

  • Maintain and extend an existing Playwright-based automation suite
  • Run, debug, and report on regression and functional tests
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Jenkins)
  • Create supporting tools or scripts for test data and validation
  • Ensure coverage across functional, non-functional, regression, and accessibility testing

Manage Risk and Defects

  • Track and manage defects throughout the SDLC
  • Participate in risk management activities
  • Recommend design improvements or corrections
  • Contribute to usability and accessibility testing to ensure user experience quality
  • Actively prevent defect recurrence through root cause analysis

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers
  • Review designs and specifications for clarity and testability
  • Support software validation efforts in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables

Report and Maintain Testing

  • Track and communicate key test metrics (coverage, pass rate, flakiness, etc.)
  • Maintain and document test frameworks for long-term sustainability
  • Proactively monitor production performance and prevent issue recurrence
  • Report on automation progress and test runs
What You Have:
  • Proven experience in both manual and automated software testing
  • Hands-on experience with modern test frameworks - Playwright preferred
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong knowledge of the ISTQB framework
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, and development best practices
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
  • Experience working in or alongside Agile teams
  • A strong sense of ownership, collaboration, and a growth mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Bonus: experience with subscription billing or financial products

Job Title: Paintshop Quality Engineer

Location: Gqeberha

Job Type: Full-time

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Reviewing paintshop quality metrics and present reports on identified defects in collaboration with paintshop lab engineers.

· Conducting microscopic analysis of paint defects, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventative measures.

· Operating and maintaining paint quality inspection equipment (e.g., coating thickness, adhesion, colour matching, transparency) and managing related tools and lab instruments.

· Overseeing and updating paintshop quality management systems, including sealer application, paint mixing and wax application processes.

· Developing and implementing quality training documentation, quarterly training plans and quality awareness initiatives. Compile detailed reports on quality metrics and present them to senior management on a regular basis.

· Monitoring and achieving Paintshop Quality KPIs by analyzing data, resolving manpower- related issues, and managing the quality inspector team.

· Plan, implement and control quality inspection processes and procedures and ensure all quality management system processes are complied with by quality inspectors and paint shop personnel.

· Conduct regular audits, analysing findings and presenting process capability results and audit feedback to senior management.

· Ensure compliance with all safety rules, company policies and quality management system requirements in an OEM paintshop environment.

· Comply with management requirements and complete work assignments in a timeous manner and instructions given by superiors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

· Quality Management certification (essential)

· Minimum of 3 years' experience in a quality engineering role within an OEM Paintshop environment.

· At least 2 years' prior experience as a Quality Inspector

· Valid Code 8 (or higher) driver's license with a minimum of 2 year's driving experience

COMPETENCIES:

· Strong technical knowledge of automobile systems and paintshop processes

· Ability to accurately identify and address quality defects

· Knowledge of ISO/TS16949 standards

· Proficiency in statistical analysis and data-driven problem solving

· Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

· Excellent report writing and presentation skills

· Self- motivated, proactive, and able to work independently

· Strong leadership, team management and interpersonal skills
