About The Job

The CSIR is recruiting for the Aerospace Industry Support Initiative (AISI) Programme Manager to co-ordinate and manage activities that are required for the rollout of projects and programmes that are linked to the industry/sector wide interventions under the Department of Trade and industry Competitions (dtic) and Aerospace Programme (IDAP). The position is based in Pretoria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defence, linked to the AISI and the dtic.
  • Align AISI activities with government strategic objectives, including dtics industrial policy, industry development strategies, and business plan.
  • Manage the contracting of service providers to implement core activities identified in the AISI Business Plan.
  • Lead the development and execution of the AISI Business Plan and strategic objectives, in collaboration with the dtic management and the Steering Committee (Steercom).
  • Manage the daily strategic operations of the initiatives, encompassing business planning, performance monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Prepare and implement the initiatives business plan, communication strategy, and other strategic documents as directed by the Steercom.
  • Draft, table for approval, and periodically maintain the Steercom Terms of Reference.
  • Prepare and manage budgets to support the units work.
  • Provide quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports on unit activities in alignment with the dtic Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
  • Organise, prepare, and support meetings and related work of the unit and Steercom.
  • Liaise with relevant entities, programmes, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration, information sharing, and alignment of activities in support of the initiatives objectives.
  • Coordinate with government departments, industry associations, and organisations to ensure alignment of dtics aerospace and advanced manufacturing initiatives with national strategies.
  • Organise symposia and workshops to advance the initiatives objectives.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the Steercom.
  • Support related activities of the dtic where relevant.
  • Ensure the initiative delivers on its short, medium, and long-term strategic objectives and targets as defined by dtic.
  • Manage the initiatives in accordance with CSIR policies, standards, procedures, and corporate governance.
  • Ensure alignment with CSIR Hosted National Programmes (HNP) quality processes and prepare the AISI Operations Manual.
  • Facilitate access to relevant CSIR facilities and experts for the South African aerospace industry.
  • Align AISI and Centurion Aerospace Village (CAV) activities to support the Integrated dtic Aerospace Programme (IDAP).
  • Draft the IDAP Business Plan and KPIs to align with dtic strategic objectives.
  • Convene and chair the IDAP Operational Committee (OPCO).
  • Implement and manage national flagship projects as identified by industry bodies and dtic.
  • Align IDAP operations with the strategic direction provided by dtic and industry stakeholders.
  • Host and manage the Industry Body Secretariat, including drafting its operations manual and overseeing interim operations.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with key international and local partners on behalf of the CSIR.

As member of the Project Delivery team in Optasia, your primary objective is to be responsible for the delivery of multiple simultaneous clients facing VAS projects within the telecommunication industry. The role is reporting to Project Delivery Director.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Take full ownership of the project delivery. This includes requirements gathering & design, technical delivery, quality assurance and go to market activities
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
  • Assist product management team in developing service description and project scope
  • Create and maintain a high level and detailed level project plan in line with company standards
  • Perform pro-active risk management, to identify and remediate risks in an early stage
  • Clear and accurate reporting to all stakeholders throughout the project, reporting progress against the project plan
  • Ensure company processes and best practices are enforced during the execution of your project
  • Manage and support multiple internal and external departments during project lifecycle
  • Collect, manage and communicate to all stakeholders any technical requirements and solution specifics
  • Actively participate in the project acceptance phase
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentoring and participating in the development of the project delivery team
What You Will Bring
  • At least 5 years' experience in Project Management in the telecommunications & IT sectors.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications or any related course
  • Project management certification required. (PMP, Prince2 Practitioner, PM2)
  • IPMA, MSP, Six-Sigma, ITIL practitioner, or agile certification are a big advantage
  • Proven track record in delivery of complex projects with MNOs
  • Telecom VAS system integration experience required
  • Charging & Billing, Mediation, SMS, USSD, IVR, GGSN/SGSN
  • CRM, Revenue Assurance
  • Good understanding of telecommunication networks
  • Experience in go to market activities
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% during project implementation phases

We are looking to recruit an IT Project Delivery Executive within the Group IT department of The Clicks Group. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Group Head of IT.

Job purpose

Functional Strategy Development and Alignment

  • Contribute input and participate in the design of the broader IT strategy and plans.

IT Project Management and Delivery and Operational Excellence

  • Evaluate and understand the Group IT environment and business needs and develop a long-term IT project delivery strategy.
  • Develop and maintain an agile, high-level portfolio and programme roadmap depicting the value delivery of all strategic initiatives, covering the implementation of major strategic goals aligned with business plans and requirements.
  • Lead and monitor the delivery of IT projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and control to its final closure, and ensure that IT projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Analyse dependencies between initiatives and the impact on benefit realisation, highlighting issues to the leadership.
  • Assess work stream status and progress by engaging with the respective Project Owners, steering committees, and business forums.
  • Coordinate change management efforts within IT Project Delivery and help the team adapt to new processes, methodologies, or technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Education

Project Monitoring and Control : Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify variances from the project plan. Take corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track. Reporting and Documentation : Prepare and present regular project status reports, updates, and dashboards to stakeholders, providing insights into project performance, risks, and issues. Lessons Learned : Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to evaluate project performance, identify areas for improvement, and capture best practices for future projects. Client Satisfaction : Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Address client concerns and requests promptly and professionally. Continuous Improvement : Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes, methodologies, and tools, leveraging industry best practices and lessons learned. Critical Technical and Behavioural Skills Required: Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Kanban. Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to identify and address complex project issues and risks. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Manage project-level financial reviews including gross and net profit tracking, and revenue recognition. Lead escalation and management of risks and compliance issues. Oversee squad productivity, capacity planning, and performance KPIs. Enforce governance, audits, and compliance checks across the portfolio.
