Job Description

The Professional Quantity Surveyor is required to be facilitate over the programme development cycle (engineering, procurement and construction) and provides quantity surveying duties pre- and/or post-contract while working as part of the project team. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader project as an experienced quantity surveyor. Guides Candidate Quantity Surveyors on works and detailed routine.

Technical Excellence:

  • Undertakes responsibilities independently and/or under very general supervision, where work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and accuracy
  • Provides expertise and supervision utilizing more than one competence on projects of varying scope and complexity
  • Provides expertise and supervision with completing the measurement of quantities for input into cost plans, cost estimates and bills of quantities
  • Provides expertise and supervision with the preparation of tender documentation
  • Provides expertise and supervision with viability studies and cost estimates
  • Provides expertise and supervision with implementing, maintaining and monitoring cost control procedures throughout the duration of a project
  • Provides expertise and supervision with providing necessary input related to financial claims
  • Provides expertise and supervision with evaluating variations, additions, and omissions, etc, and incorporating these into monthly cost reports
  • Provides expertise and supervision with preparing, pricing and negotiating change orders with clients and contractors
  • Complies with all QA requirements
  • Benchmarks project data

Client Relationship Management:
  • Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a QS within the built environment
  • Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or University or equivalent.
  • Professionally registered with SACQSP
  • Civil and Infrastructure experience would be advantageous
  • Applicant should work well in a team, be adaptable to change and enjoy a challenge

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveyor with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will apply expertise in cadastral, topographical, and engineering surveys, working with the latest surveying equipment and software, while operating in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare for surveys by extracting and analysing relevant records, noting sheets, and diagrams from the Surveyor-Generals office.
  • Georeference architectural and engineering drawings to determine accurate setting-out points.
  • Transform coordinates between various systems to maintain survey precision and compliance.
  • Conduct fieldwork applying sound survey principles, verifying and checking survey results for accuracy.

  • Proficient in operating total stations, GPS receivers, digital levels, and CAD software.
  • Valid drivers licence; own vehicle essential for site visits and travel across Cape Town and surrounds.

We are seeking a highly skilled and registered Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr QS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in mining(Undergroung) , petrochemical, or energy sectors, with proven expertise in cost estimation, contract administration, and project financial control.

Minimum Requirements (Search Criteria):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (BSc QS / BTech QS)
  • Registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr QS) – Mandatory
  • Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in mining, petrochemical, or energy industries
  • Solid understanding of FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or GCC contract suites
  • Strong experience in project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and final account settlement
  • Knowledge of procurement and tender processes in EPC or large infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in QS software (e.g., WinQS, CCS Candy, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of quantity surveying activities on complex projects within the mining, energy, or petrochemical sector
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and registered Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr QS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in mining(Undergroung) , petrochemical, or energy sectors, with proven expertise in cost estimation, contract administration, and project financial control.

Minimum Requirements (Search Criteria):

  • Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (BSc QS / BTech QS)
  • Registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr QS) Mandatory
  • Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in mining, petrochemical, or energy industries
  • Solid understanding of FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or GCC contract suites
  • Strong experience in project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and final account settlement
  • Knowledge of procurement and tender processes in EPC or large infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in QS software (e.g., WinQS, CCS Candy, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of quantity surveying activities on complex projects within the mining, energy, or petrochemical sector
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation
  • Monitor project expenditure and provide ongoing cost reports and value engineering analysis
  • Conduct contract administration, including progress claims, variations, and final accounts
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, project teams, and engineers to ensure commercial compliance
  • Support project planning with financial forecasting and risk assessments
  • Ensure alignment with industry regulations

Preferred Experience:

  • professional standards (SACQSP, SANS, CIDB, etc.)
  • Participate in procurement strategy development and tender evaluation processes
  • Monitor subcontractor payments and manage disputes or contractual claims
  • Experience on large EPC or turnkey projects
  • Background in multi-disciplinary projects across Africa or internationally
  • Familiarity with green energy or renewable infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to public-private partnerships (PPP) or government-funded projects
