The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and directing all daily activities for the production of rubber components. This position is a working Supervisor who will be working side by side with their crew.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Plans and directs plant operations.
  2. Focuses on driving safety, quality, and productivity.
  3. Develops, implements, and enforces operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue.
  4. Provides leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
  5. Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  6. Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

Required Skills And Qualifications
  • A tertiary engineering qualification such as industrial or mechanical and/or a qualified artisan in mechanical trade – Fitter, toolmaker etc.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of production supervision experience in a FMCG environment or similar.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to create and adhere to production processes.
  • Ability to write reports legibly and accurately.

Technical Management

  1. Responsible for adherence to technical standards and work methods, for section, in accordance with organisational and client requirements, policies, procedures and legislation.

SHEQ Management

  1. Check sums are right on plan drawings and quantities and that all materials and work are to the specifications.
  2. Record the condition of plant arriving on site on a form with photographs.

People Management

  1. Lead, and manage team.
  2. Support, guide and coach team.

Culture and Climate

  1. Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement for the duration of the project.
  2. Align with client culture requirements as directed by management.
Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. National Diploma in Water Treatment.
  2. B Tech in Water Treatment or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  1. At least one to two year’s experience working in a water environment.
