Role Overview

We are seeking a Production and Quality Supervisor to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensure consistent product quality across all cementitious and adhesive lines. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a strong focus on continuous improvement to maintain production efficiency and compliance with ISO 9001 and SABS standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight

Supervise and coordinate daily production

activities, ensuring targets and delivery timelines are met.

Manage batching, blending, and packaging of tile adhesives, grouts, and related cementitious products.

Plan raw material usage and ensure optimal stock levels in collaboration with procurement.

Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards (SHEQ) across the production floor.

Quality Management

Implement and maintain ISO 9001:2015 and SABS quality standards in all manufacturing processes.

Conduct in-process and final product inspections, sampling, and testing.

Review batch records and maintain traceability of raw materials and finished products.

Investigate and resolve non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality deviations.

Ensure calibration and upkeep of laboratory testing equipment.

Continuously improve processes, drive innovation, and optimise formulations to enhance product performance, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.

Team Leadership

Supervise, train, and motivate production and quality teams to achieve operational excellence.

Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety briefings, and performance evaluations.

Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Reporting and Documentation

Maintain daily production and quality reports for management review.

Assist in internal and external audits (ISO, SABS, and customer audits).

Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation projects.

Qualifications and Experience

National Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering

Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a production or quality supervisory role within cement, concrete, adhesives, or construction materials manufacturing.

Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and SABS quality management systems.

Experience with SAP or similar production management systems (advantageous).

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
