KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of the law enforcement strategy and annual operational plan for the Division that supports strategic direction of the C-BRTA.
- Oversee the Road Transport Inspectorate operations, including business and staff performance.
- Oversee execution of law enforcement interventions on all cross border corridors.
- Provide leadership on the Profiling capability and development of business intelligence in law enforcement.
- Oversee the management of functional skills development and external activities coordination.
- Manage the 8 regional offices of the C-BRTA throughout RSA.
- Provide advise to the CEO, the regulatory committee and the Board on matters related to Road Transport Inspectorate.
- Facilitate compliance with corporate governance principles, and ensure the development and implementation of
- Provide regional leadership on regional integrated law enforcement initiatives.
- Ensure that the Divisional plan correlates with the approved operating budget and ensure successful execution thereof; and
- Prudently manage the organisation's resources within budget guidelines and relevant legislation.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Business planning principles.

Formal Qualifications:
- Degree or NQF level 7 qualification in Law Enforcement,Traffic Policing or related fields.
- Post-graduate qualification at NQF level 8 in Law Enforcement or Traffic Policing.
- A Post-graduate qualification at NQF level 9 will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 10 years experience in road transport law enforcement or related field.
- 5 years experience at Senior Management level in law enforcement, stakeholder management and road transport environment.
- Extensive, up to date knowledge of Traffic management, C-BRT Act, applicable transport legislation in the SADC region.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in achieving their recovery targets while fostering relationships with law enforcement and private security partners.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Recovery of stolen or hijacked vehicles.
- Act as a specialized point of contact between the emergency control departments and external partners (such as law enforcement and PSI).
- Coordinate and attend to all activations and verifications dispatched by Emergency Control Centre.
- During crime or safety verification activations, request the assistance of Law Enforcement Agencies and PSIs to stop the activated vehicle.
- Adhere to Crime Scene management protocols at all times.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive working understanding of the complete stolen vehicle recovery ecosystem and legal framework.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive working understanding of SAPS protocols related to motor vehicle-related crime.

Job Purpose
To provide strategic and operational leadership by applying security risk management across Nedbank, ensuring the protection of people, assets, and operations in alignment with the bank's business strategy. The role includes oversight of physical and protective security, travel and personnel risk, security supplier management, intelligence, crisis response and managing all outsourced security agreements. The Head of Group Security Services collaborates with stakeholders to maintain a secure and compliant environment that enables business units to operate effectively and profitably.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performance security team, driving professionalism, accountability, and transformation.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to secure all facilities and operations.
- Coordinate with law enforcement, industry bodies, and private sector stakeholders for risk management and incident resolution.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for adopting emerging security technologies like AI-driven threat detection, blockchain, and IoT security.
- Develop and implement the bank's corporate security vision, mission, strategy, and risk management programs.
- Develop and maintain a Group Physical Security strategy, policies, standards and procedures aligned with the bank's risk appetite, regulatory requirements and business strategy.
- Ensure alignment of Group Security Services with broader Nedbank strategies and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and maintain transparent reporting mechanisms for security activities.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
- Lead group-level incident command management and incident response planning, ensuring rapid and effective action during emergencies.
- Lead strategic and tactical security initiatives to safeguard people, assets, and operations, and combat violent crime.
- Maintain threat intelligence capability: monitoring political, social and crime trends affecting operations and advising mitigations.
- Manage relationships with external security vendors and ensure compliance with service level agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the security budget and ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Monitor and report on security risks, developments, and performance to executive leadership.
- Oversee procurement, deployment and lifecycle management of security technology, ensuring interoperability, resilience and data privacy.
- Oversee security operations including personnel management, training, and technology deployment.
- Oversee the delivery of physical, protective, personnel, and travel security services across the Group.
- Own specification, procurement, deployment and lifecycle management of physical security systems: CCTV, access control, perimeter systems, intrusion detection, intercoms, security analytics.
- Protect key people via executive protection programs as appropriate.
- Provide expert advice and assurance on physical and protective security to Business, Executive Management and the Board.
- Regularly review and update systems and processes to address evolving threats and improve security measures.
- Stay informed about technological innovations and assess their potential impact on the bank's security posture.
- Support corporate citizenship and transformation initiatives through effective leadership and stakeholder engagement.
Essential Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications
- Private Security Industry Regulation Act (PSIRA)
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are preferred
Minimum Experience Level
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in security management, preferably within the banking industry.
