Key Responsibilities
Budget Management
Request quotes from contractors based on project plans.
- Work with the Site Foreman to compile supplier order sheets.
- Prepare budgets using quotes and order sheets, and submit them for approval by the Director and CEO.
- Monitor budgets regularly and update them with any variations (VOs).
Keep relevant parties informed about potential high-risk items. Ordering & Procurement
Place purchase orders for all contractors and suppliers based on approved quotes.
- Ensure purchase orders are sent out on time.
- Maintain and regularly update an order tracking system.
Follow up with contractors or suppliers when necessary to avoid delays. Extras Management
Receive and file extras documentation.
- Discuss with the Village Manager which extras should be approved and cost.
- Request quotes for extras from contractors and compile them for approval.
- Ensure extras are accurately cost, approved, and payments are tracked.
Work with the architect to ensure approved extras are updated in plans and communicated to the site team. Payments & Financial Tracking
Prepare fortnightly and month-end payments for Director approval.
- Verify that invoices match purchase orders and completion forms.
- Resolve any discrepancies or disputes with contractors.
- Ensure payments are checked and processed accurately and on time.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
- Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar.
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience in construction administration, ideally in residential developments.
- Strong understanding of plans, programs, and project workflows.
- Solid knowledge of project management processes.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong numerical ability and financial acumen with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) and quick to learn new systems.
- Highly organised, accurate, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Deadline-driven, thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and professional communicator, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and proactive in finding solutions.
Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills.
- Clear health, criminal, and credit record.
- Two written references.
Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi-time between 06h30 and 18h30.
With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish Square in Claremont.

A national branding and promotional solutions company specialising in corporate gifting promotional merchandise and custom branding is seeking a detail-driven Cost Estimator to support their external sales team. This is a critical role blending product sourcing, supplier negotiation, costing and client communication to deliver accurate competitive quotes.
You will liaise directly with clients on behalf of the Account Manager, ensuring exceptional service while working with a variety of suppliers to secure the best possible pricing. This role requires a mix of commercial savvy, attention to detail, excellent time management and top-tier admin skills.
Key Responsibilities- Source products and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best pricing.
- Build accurate costings to determine CP and manage GP margins.
- Prepare professional proposals and quotes aligned with client briefs.
- Liaise directly with clients to ensure clear communication and service excellence.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of quotes, purchase orders and all related documentation.
- Proactively follow up on quotes and identify sales opportunities.
- Brief internal departments to ensure timely, accurate order fulfilment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of client CI guidelines and branding standards.
- Provide telephonic support to clients and suppliers.
- Support the Sales Manager and external sales team with administrative and operational tasks.
- Participate in ad hoc administrative or sourcing-related projects as required.
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- 35 years of experience in sales administration, quoting or production.
- Proven experience in costing, supplier negotiation and preparing detailed quotes.
- Exposure to branding, promotional products or corporate gifting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of CI and CAD approvals will be beneficial.
- Strong customer service skills, confident liaising with clients directly.
- Financial acumen and the ability to calculate cost-to-price margins.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with Netsuite, Accpac or Sage is advantageous.
- Excellent time management, multitasking and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
