Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Power Platform Developer to support a targeted intake and workflow improvement initiative. This role drives the end-to-end revamp of the client's intake system built on Microsoft Power Platform — resolving architectural dependencies, streamlining legal and sourcing workflows, and enhancing data accuracy and user experience. You will own the technical rebuild, automation logic, and environment stabilization while preparing the platform for long-term maintainability and technical support. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, ownership, and a commitment to high-quality delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Power Apps forms and workflows based on detailed business requirements
- Implement field logic, validation rules, and dropdown dependencies with precision
- Configure Power Automate flows for routing, notifications, and record updates
- Integrate with SharePoint and Dataverse for document handling and metadata propagation
- Set up and maintain staging environments for safe testing and deployment
- Apply form UX improvements, including layout hierarchy, confirmation summaries, and branding elements
- Ensure data integrity and audit-readiness through structured field mapping and validation
- Collaborate with analysts and PMs to clarify requirements and estimate effort
- Uphold Power Platform best practices in architecture, security, and maintainability
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience, including 3+ years hands-on with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, MS Forms)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, production-grade solutions with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of form logic, workflow automation, and integration with SharePoint/Dataverse
- Proven track record of taking initiative, owning deliverables end-to-end, and proactively resolving blockers
- Adept at translating functional requirements into maintainable technical solutions with clear configuration documentation
- Able to work under tight governance with structured daily check-ins and quality assurance checkpoints
- Experience stabilizing or rebuilding legacy Power Platform solutions with broken or missing integrations preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail in form design, validation logic, and metadata handling

Role Description
This is freelance role, but could turn into a full-time position for a Software Engineer. The person does not need to be located in Johannesburg South Africa, but should be able to run on a similar time-zone to us, or be able to be available at the times when it is South Africa's day time work hours. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining software solutions. Day-to-day tasks will include programming, back-end web development, and object-oriented programming (OOP). The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our technical team to innovate and solve complex problems.
Experience in
- .NET Programming using C#
- Web development using TypeScript and AZURE backend
- experience will be an advantage
