Metal Consumer goods manufacturer seeks a Plant Maintenance Manager with a Government Certificate of Competency. Oversee the maintenance of overhead cranes, forging machines, acid baths, furnaces, transformers, CNC machines and electrical switch gear. Further oversee the mechanical maintenance of dated (20yrs +) machines. Participate in plant modernisation initiatives.
Ideal Person for the RoleThe ideal person for the role will have graduated with either an Engineering Diploma (N6, T3 or S4) or a Degree (BSc or BTech) in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. You will have worked for 8-10 years in maintaining a sophisticated factory that manufactures metal products such as steel manufacturing or steel structure manufacturing. This would have included forging and maintenance of machining tools. It will also have involved programming of CNC machines.
You will have then been promoted to a maintenance manager role. You will have been in charge of the entire maintenance function in the factory. This includes maintenance scheduling, budgeting, parts and project management. You will have developed effective management skills, and will have learnt how to motivate staff to peak performance. You will have been a manager for at least 5 years, and have developed extensive skills and a proven track record.
You will be an analytical thinker who is very strong with diagnostics. You will have a natural gift for visualisation. You will be able to think in a clear and logical way. You will be able to work according to maintenance schedules and be structured in your work style.
