Key Responsibilities :- Lead day-to-day engineering operations across the plant and utilities.
- Ensure plant equipment operates reliably with minimal downtime.
- Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive & corrective).
- Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee and optimise utilities (compressed air, CO2, water, boilers, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, etc.).
- Ensure strict compliance with OSH Act, HACCP, ISO, and engineering standards (e.g., SANS, ASME).
- Support capital project execution aligned with operational needs.
- Manage engineering budgets and control costs effectively.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure audit-readiness.
- Monitor and improve KPIs: OEE, MTBF, CMMS utilisation, maintenance ratios, and utility efficiency.
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechatronic Engineering
GCC (Factories): mandatory
Additional certifications (e.g., PMP, CMRP) are an added advantage.
Experience : 6–8 years in engineering / maintenance roles in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferably from the FMCG, beverage, or food industry
ERP & CMMS experience essential
Previous GMR1 appointment is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies :- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and utility systems
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO, and plant hygiene practices
- Familiar with engineering and safety standards : SANS, SABS, ASME, etc.
- Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
- Data-driven decision-maker with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and cost control

Job Description
The purpose of this role is to ensure maximum uptime of plant and equipment and services with effective costing and compliance with all safety regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinate the activities of all manufacturing services and maintenance.
- Ensure the achievement of the overall objectives of manufacturing services and maintenance.
- Project management including but not limited to the commissioning of new equipment.
- Preparation and management of annual budgets.
- Implementation and management of a structured planned maintenance system.

- Compliance with the Health & Safety including OSH Act and statutory requirements.
- Participate in the implementation of the energy management system according to ISO 50001.
- Participation in the definition of new energy-related corporate goals and the program of actions.
- Co-ordination of the local energy projects.
- Implementation of cost down projects.
- Evaluation of staff key performance areas (KPIs).
- Responsible for Security Services.
- 10 years plant engineering related experience.
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) – Electrical.
- Previous GMR (2) Appointment and Responsibility.
- Advantageous: Project management qualification and Certified Energy Manager certification.
- Sound knowledge of MS office applications (Excel, Word, Power-point and Projects).
