  10. Actively maintains all required credentials, including state licensure, state controlled substance registration, federal DEA registration, NCCPA certification, BLS and ACLS certification, as appropriate in each practice setting. This includes logging CME and completing re certification examinations as required for maintenance of the NCCPA certificate.
  11. Serves as a resource for the teaching, training and orientation of students and colleagues. Participates in clinical research, and contributes to clinical conferences, rounds, and quality-control meetings, as appropriate in each practice setting.
  12. Promptly completes all outstanding medical records as required by the needs of each clinical service.
  13. Evaluates patients in outpatient clinics or in the Emergency Department, accurately documenting each encounter, and communicating with the Supervising Physician according to UMMHC policy.

Our team currently consists of 15 Advanced Practice Providers, 2 Cardiac Surgeons and 5 Surgical Intensivists. This provider will work on an as needed (per diem) basis. 12-hour shifts, day or night coverage.Our team serves a diverse patient population offering advanced cardiac surgery including open and endovascular aortic repair, coronary revascularization, structural heart and mechanical circulatory support, including a destination VAD program. Our clinical work spans the full spectrum of perioperative cardiac surgery care from high complexity tertiaryand quaternarycare services to routine surgical cases.We perform approximately 550 cases annually. Our advanced practice provider team is the first point of contact and provides care in the ICU, post-operative floor and outpatient clinic. Our surgically trained APPs provide operative first assisting and endoscopic vein harvest in all cases. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on individual to assist a Clinical Technologist in the provision of hospital and home-based sleep studies in Cape Town and surrounds. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys patient interaction, working independently, and being on the move.

What You'll Do:

· Travel to patients' homes or hospitals to set up diagnostic sleep study equipment

· Collect equipment the following day

· Download and transfer patient data

· Clean, maintain and care for technical equipment

· Assist with basic admin tasks related to sleep study tracking and reporting

· Assist the Clinical Technologist with other tasks pertaining to their practice

What You Need:

· Paramedic experience (current or prior)

· Current registration with HPCSA

· Own reliable transport (essential – petrol card supplied)

· Good bedside manner and attention to detail

· Basic IT skills for data handling

· Comfortable working flexible hours (evenings/early mornings)

Work Hours:

40-hour work week

Flexible scheduling based on patient appointments

Salary:

R18,000 gross per month
