You will focus on engagement and product education, ensuring that medical professionals stay up to date with the companies portfolio and therapeutic advancements.
Qualifications & Requirements :
Bachelors degree or diploma in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or a related field.
2 years pharmaceutical sales, medical detailing, or HCP engagement experience.
Strong ability to communicate scientific concepts in a clear, engaging manner.
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills with HCPs.
Ability to work independently in a field-based role, managing engagements effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools for engagement tracking.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities :
HCP Engagement & Relationship Building
Build and maintain strong relationships with HCPs, including doctors, specialists, pharmacists.
Conduct regular face-to-face and virtual interactions to educate and support HCPs with product information.
Act as the primary point of contact for HCPs, addressing queries and providing relevant medical product insights.
Product Detailing & Education
Deliver scientifically sound, engaging product discussions sessions tailored to HCPs needs.
Ensure HCPs have a clear understanding of product benefits, indications, and mechanisms of action.
Support new product launches by ensuring HCPs receive timely and accurate information.
Work closely with Medical Product Leads to bridge the gap between scientific data and practical application for HCPs.
Driving Product Awareness & Advocacy
Identify and engage with key prescribers and influencers to increase brand awareness and encourage product adoption.
Support and enhance HCP confidence in product portfolio through educational discussions and Q&A sessions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and ethical standards in all HCP interactions.
Market Intelligence & Feedback
Gather insights from HCPs on market trends, competitor activity, and patient experiences.
Provide feedback to the marketing and medical teams to optimize engagement strategies and product messaging.
Track engagement activities and measure their impact on HCP awareness and prescribing behaviors.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
Work closely with the Medical Product Leads and HCP Engagement Specialists to align messaging and engagement strategies.
Support marketing efforts by distributing relevant educational materials and promotional content to HCPs.
Assist in executing key HCP engagement initiatives, such as peer-to-peer discussions and advisory board meetings.
Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills ability to engage with pharmacists, HCPs, and stakeholders effectively.
Excellent communication and organizational skills ability to coordinate multiple interactions and follow up proactively.
Experience in pharmacy training and engagement ability to educate and support pharmacy teams.
Event coordination experience managing logistics, invitations, and execution.
Proactive and detail-oriented ability to track engagement activities and refine strategies.

Director Key Account Management Chemical in Sub-Saharan Africa will focus on DP World’s top-tier strategic clients across Chemical industry in Sub-Saharan Africa. Responsible for cross-selling and up-selling all DP World capabilities to existing clients and developing the business in alignment with the overall strategy. Being the support point of contact from operations for all key client matters, anticipating client needs based on industry and global trends and client performance.
The Key Account Management Chemical SSA will be responsible for maintaining and growing the existing book of business and finding new clients in the Chemical space. The role requires a successful collaboration between operations and commercial on contract renewal strategies and addressing scope change opportunities (cross-selling and up-selling) commercially within the existing business. Influence and assist with operational implementation, contributing to client’s satisfaction, reducing risk and improve profitability.
Job Context
Key Account Management Chemical SSA is critical for the success of DP World’s growth strategy and to maintain global and regional relationship with its key clients across the Chemical industry vertical.
The role will focus on client growth through extension of DP World capability offering within existing accounts (farming) as well as hunting for new business in SSA region. This role will also link with Global Key Accounts Management to align strategies and to assist in opening doors for global accounts in the SSA region as well as drive cohesion between business units in SSA.
Director Key Account Management Chemical SSA will work and influence all leaders of all relevant support functions to ensure all commercial activities are supported (operations, operational excellence, finance, IT, HR, legal,) She/he will provide leadership, processes and direction to the commercial organization and she/he will develop talents being accessible, hands-on and leading by example.
Key Performance Areas:
- Accountable for coordinating and assisting in implementing the KAM Framework for strategic existing Chemical clients, providing direction and promoting collaboration with BD Sales and operational teams.
- Meet and exceed financial growth targets for the assigned global Chemical customer accounts and/or new customers annually and expand our geographic and solutions offering footprint with these accounts across DP World service portfolio
- Maintain understanding of customers’ expectations relative to operational solutions, costs and results
- Keep key account plans relevant and up to date and measure/follow up on the strategic actions of the key account and also highlight progress to date
- Identify and in collaboration with account owners and sponsors, assist in develop relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account
- Manage governance structure and Communications Plan by assisting scheduling and facilitating Biannual and Quarterly Business Reviews with assigned strategic clients as well as monthly operational meetings.
- Construct Account Plans in consultation with operations to understand the customer's business (strategically, operationally, financially), understand the customer's buying process and identify all influences, intimately understanding their requirements
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of current and future opportunities, quantifying number of opportunities, value of the opportunity and managing the probability to win
- Generating new Greenfields business by applying end-to-end DP World model in designing of end-to-end solutions.
- Coordinate RFQs for new business opportunities as required and renewals of existing business with assigned clients engaging other functions as required and own the commercial relationship and contract negotiations
- Follow the internal commercial process, procedures and thresholds
- Foster a close cooperation between Account Management, Business Development (Sales), Operations, Operational Excellence and all other functions (IT, HR, Finance, etc.)
- Partner with colleagues in other regions on broader opportunities for global clients and industry verticals
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
- Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Transport/Logistics
- Proven track record of having consistently achieved on a sales quota at a relevant scale
Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum >8 years’ experience within the transport, logistics or freight forwarding industry (or similar service industry) with focus on Key Account Management or Sales role.
- Leading and managing a team
- Experience in Key Account Management and/or Sales
- Experience in Chemical Market/Industry in SA and/or SSA
- Experience within Logistics
- Exposure to and working knowledge of all facets of contractual requirements.
