KetaMIND is a specialized ketamine therapy clinic located in the heart of the Cape Winelands, at the Paarl Medicentre . The clinic offers IV ketamine infusions to support individuals struggling with treatment-resistant mood disorders and chronic pain.
The clinic will only be open on a Tuesday & Friday until we have enough patients to work 6 days a week.
The relief nurse will cover for the regular nurse three days per month, as well as during periods of leave or unavailability. She will only be required to work on these days if patients are scheduled.
The relief nurse must have an up to date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and an up to date SANC registration.
The relief nurse shall provide their professional nursing services and expertise to KetaMIND Paarl which include, but not be limited to:
- The placement of peripheral intravenous cannulas
- Preparation and checking of infusions in conjunction with a doctor
- The attachment of monitoring devices to patients receiving infusions
- Monitoring of the devices for the duration of each infusion and the recovery period
- Recording of vital signs and any adverse events during the infusions
- Ensuring adequate stock levels of essential medications and consumables
- Maintaining treatment areas in a clean, tidy and in an aseptic state
- Fulfilling any reasonable nursing duties as may be required from time to time.
The relief nurse is responsible for maintaining such professional memberships and affiliations as may be required for them to carry out their duties legally and to provide proof of the professional memberships and affiliations when requested.
In consultation with the KetaMIND Paarl Managing Director, The relief nurse agrees to identify the hours that they are available to work monthly in advance and, in the event such hours subsequently change due to unforeseen circumstances, to notify the KetaMIND Paarl Managing Directo r timeously.
When the clinic is established and is working 5 / 6 days a week the normal hours of operation shall be 08h00 – 17h00 on Monday to Friday and 08h00 - 13h00 on a Saturday. It is noted that, given the nature of KetaMIND’s treatment protocols, which might necessitate working on a public holiday on occasion in order to maintain a particular infusion sequence, The relief nurse may be asked to work on such public holidays on the terms outlined. Such public holidays shall not include major holidays such as Christmas, Easter Day, and New-Years Day.
The relief nurse agrees to complete and submit a monthly timesheet and invoice to the KetaMIND Paarl branch for hours worked in accordance with the following rates (VAT not applicable):
● R160.00 (One Hundred and Sixty Rand) per contracted hour – part-hours should be prorated. A contracted hour means Monday to Friday 08h00 – 17h00 and Saturday 08h00 – 13h00.
● R205.00 (Two Hundred and Five Rand) per hour (prorated if part thereof) if worked after 17h00 (Monday to Friday), after 13h00 on a Saturday or on a public holiday.
The relief nurse agrees to treat the business conducted at KetaMIND Paarl in the strictest confidence, extending to complete patient confidentiality as well as respecting the proprietary nature of KetaMIND’s business model, intellectual property, and franchise system, and to not discuss or disseminate the same inappropriately. Adherence to POPIA regulations is required. The relief nurse agrees that he or she shall not engage or become involved with the administration of Ketamine infusions for mood disorders or chronic pain outside of a KetaMIND clinic whether directly or indirectly while practicing at a KetaMIND clinic, or for a period of three-years after their last day of service at KetaMIND Paarl.
