TSU International is the contracted public safety provider to the Clifton City Improvement District, which provides top-up services to the City of Cape Town.
Working in the public spaces of Clifton – including beaches, car parks, roads and green open spaces - the public safety team is responsible for providing a visible crime deterrent on a 24x7x365 basis, whilst also offering assistance in the public space to residents, property owners and visitors. Officers are supported by a surveillance centre, providing CCTV monitoring.
We are recruiting a Public Safety Officer to join the team on a fixed-term contract.
The suitable candidate must be able to work in all weather conditions, be able to patrol on various terrains including rocks, sand/beaches, grass and bushes and must be very alert and responsive.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade C - Psira registered and up to date
- Grade 12
- Interpersonal communication - English and Afrikaans
- Ability to work independently and meet work requirements without supervision.
- Good health and good physical condition - fit to do physical work on beaches, bushes and green area.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Attention to detail when on duty and pro-active communicator

Key responsibilities include:
- Completing vehicle and foot patrols in defined areas.
- Responding to incidents in which a public safety officer requires back up.
- Liaising with the surveillance centre regarding CCTV alerts and suspicious behavior, and ensuring resources are deployed to attend to them, providing updates and reports in each instance.
- Working with the contract manager to manage issues.
To be considered for the role, you will need:
- Grade B PSIRA certification.
- A valid driver's license: Minimum 2 years driving experience on various types of vehicles and be a regular driver
- Relevant work experience in the security industry
- Supervisory experience in the security or a related sector advantageous
- Good administrative skills and experience in writing reports and completing registers
