Duties & Responsibilities- Customer Interaction: Serve as the main liaison between customers and Freddy Hirsch Group (FHG), addressing and resolving concerns promptly. Manage inquiries and issues across departments, ensuring efficient communication and resolution.
- Product Expertise: Keep abreast of industry advancements and FHG's product line, engaging with OEMs for ongoing learning. Arrange and conduct equipment demonstrations and training sessions to showcase FHG's technology.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, particularly in equipment and packaging products.
- Market Strategy: Devise tailored strategies for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) offerings to attract potential customers and penetrate specific markets, aiming to generate leads and boost sales.
- Collaborative Development: Work closely with customers and OEMs to troubleshoot packaging and equipment issues, ensuring smooth integration and functionality.
- Project Oversight: Demonstrate strong administrative skills to manage multiple projects effectively, including reporting, planning, scheduling, and prioritization.
- Preferably holds a Food Tech qualification or IPSA Qualification in Packaging Technology.
- Technical background with a focus on packaging technologies is essential.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a technical role within the packaging industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of packaging materials and processes.
- Proficient in FMCG production principles, specifically related to packaging.
- Familiarity with Project Management principles.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in persuasion, to effectively convey technical details and product benefits to customers.
- Confidence and assertiveness to engage with customers and successfully close deals.
- Willingness to undertake extensive travel, both domestically and internationally, as required.

ITB Flexible Packaging Solutions (ITB) is a flexible plastic packaging manufacturer and part of the Novus Holdings Group. ITB produces an array packaging for the FMCG and food markets. Its products include retail bags, security bags, FFS food packaging, heavy duty sacks and carrier bags which are distributed across South Africa and abroad.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Administer, update, and maintain the company's food safety FSSC 22000 and quality management ISO 9001:2015 systems.
- Ensure compliance with GFSI standards, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- To promote Food Safety and Quality principles throughout the organization.
- To assist with the development and understanding of Food Hygiene Standards and Practices, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Participate in both external and internal Food Safety and Quality System audits.
- Provide administrative support to the Food Safety and Quality Assurance team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and physical records for audits and inspections.
- Manage databases for food safety and quality system tracking.
- Follow up on internal and external audit findings and non-conformances.
- Carry out document control, distribution and communication of changes to the system.
- Co-ordinate monthly FSSC/HACCP committee meetings and collate the information necessary for review by the Quality and Food Safety team. Recording and distribution of meeting minutes to Quality Steering Committee and Food Safety Team.
- Reporting opportunities to Management for continuous improvement.
- Control of non-conforming products – follow up on movement of nonconforming product after management decision in terms of food safety requirements.
- Generate monthly reports relating to Quality and Food Safety for management.
- Follow up on external and internal laboratory testing with regards to Food Safety and Quality. Training of Quality and Food Safety personnel.
- Matric with Maths and Science.
- A Diploma/ Degree in Food Technology or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, HACCP or Food Safety Systems such as FSSC 22000, BRC or AIB.
- Ability to apply ISO 9001 Quality Management and Food Safety systems principles in a manufacturing environment.
- Have 2 – 3 years' experience in ISO 9001 and HACCP/Food Safety co-ordination and administration in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be a pro-active individual.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to work after hours and on weekends when required.
- Must be prepared to attend external training where required.

Purpose of the Role
The Category & Marketing Manager: (Packaging Solutions) is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for packaging material within VKB's Input Retail division. The role ensures that packaging solutions meet customer and business needs while driving sales growth, managing costs, and building strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, and internal branches.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 as minimum requirement
- National Diploma or Degree in Marketing/Business/Communications will be an advantage
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in marketing or sales of packaging material
- Proven track record in agricultural input retail or related field will be an advantage
- Computer literate (MS Office essential; marketing tools advantageous)
- Proficiency in Afrikaans and English
- Clear criminal record
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the region
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and implement regional marketing campaigns for packaging products.
- Promote packaging material to farmers and retail customers, ensuring product suitability and quality.
- Support Input Retail branches with in-store promotions, product activations, and seasonal marketing activities.
- Monitor and analyse regional market trends, customer demand, and competitor activity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure quality packaging material at competitive prices.
- Conduct regular customer visits and farmer days to strengthen client relationships and drive sales.
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to management on sales performance, stock movement, and customer needs.
- Ensure packaging budgets are managed effectively and cost controls are implemented.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align packaging initiatives with overall business strategy.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve queries or claims efficiently.
- Oversee marketing stock, promotional materials, and branding for packaging across the region.
- Complete required reports and administration related to marketing and sales.
- Stay updated on industry developments and participate in training and skills development activities.
