Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor control panels and adjust valves and gates to regulate the flow of wastewater
through treatment processes. Control process variables to ensure that the desired water
quality is achieved.
- Generate data for plant performance i.e. run time, flow rates, volumes processed,
downtime, chemical usage, system error/alarm analysis, non-conformances and test
results.
- Ensure that safety procedures are adhered to, safety meetings are conducted and
minutes are provided, incidents are reported and investigated, safety risk assessments
are reviewed, PPE is maintained and used properly, chemicals are stored correctly
according to standards, ensure good housekeeping and that plant is clean at all times.
Ensure that routine plant maintenance and cleaning is conducted.
Prepare and charge process chemicals at the required intervals in a safe manner. Report
on stock levels and order chemicals before they reach the minimum stock level.
Assist in generation and review of operating documents and policies.
Participate in deviation, problem solving, process improvement and incident
investigations.
Review improvements from other facilities and utilize to improve one's own facility.
Conduct inspections as required by regulations.
Read and interpret charts, flow meters, and other gauges to determine operating
efficiency.
Maintain logs, records, and reports related to the work.
Assist in training others in work techniques.
Perform related work and other tasks as assigned.
Desired attributes and qualifications
High computer literacy – Excel and Word.
N.Dip or equivalent in sciences or engineering. Draughtsman also preferred.
Good command of the English language.
Self-driven individual who can work with minimal supervision.
Experience in plant operations and maintenance is desirable.
Sound analytical skills.

The
Key Purpose
of this role is the operation of the brewing and associated process areas, the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and supporting the Brewing Technician Artisan in carrying out asset care activities.
Key outputs and responsibilities:
Shift based production performance and processes
- Interpret and implement production plan for shift
- Monitor and control production processes on shift using the correct tools as per the VPO standards (OWS, Team Rooms, 5S, etc)
- Perform quality analysis and ensure process quality and productivity is achieved on your shift
- Manage waste and by-products on shift

- Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment

- Min – 12 months on the job training @ SCAP process

What you will do
Broad Purpose / Function:
- Ensures GMP, EHS and quality requirements are met in the area of work
- Actively participates in the identification and implementation of continuous improvements initiatives. Ensure wastages are minimized and packaging costs contained.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Ensure GMP, EHS and Quality compliance during the execution of the Production Plan and all related tasks.
Ensure that production line and equipment housekeeping is maintained to standard and pharmaceutical industry expectations. This includes strip down, cleaning and reassembling of equipment and relevant production area.
Perform minor settings and autonomous maintenance and operation of equipment in accordance with approved SOPs and WIs.
Ensure that all documentation required for the release of a batch are completed on time and accurately in order to service the customer when required and meet quality standards and pharmaceutical expectations.
Participate in root cause investigation and problem solving activities.
Hourly tracking of output against set targets.
Updating of Visual Performance Measurements in production line.
Ensure components and bulks are staged and signed on, with necessary checklists completed.
Assist with material handling and component checks when required.
Provide training when required.
Support and participate in the Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
Support Production Fitters with major breakdowns.
Qualifications / Experience / Requirements:
Matric Certificate
Production experience is essential
Technical aptitude and mechanical ability is advantageous

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine analytical techniques related to the established Sample Preparation and Fire Assay procedures.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive samples with security guard and verify seal number on the trunks with those on the waybill and sign the waybill with the security guard.
- Perform sorting and boxing of samples when samples are received.
- Collect samples from Sample Receiving for weighing.
- Perform weighing, drying and crushing of samples as required by the client's instructions for sample preparation.
- Perform splitting, pulverizing and boxing of samples in Sample Prep and do screen checks.
- Perform the screening of samples for PSA.
- Perform discarding of samples.
- Perform the weighing, fluxing, fusion and cupelling processes within Fire Assay.
- Discarding of samples to return to the client.
- Punctuality at all times.
- Ensure customer requirements are achieved with regard to turn around time commitments.
- Report daily production figures to the shift/team leader and also bona fide explanations about targets not met and status of equipment/consumables.
- Follow immediate superior's clear detailed instructions and demonstrate flexibility in executing the duties.

Qualifications
Education

- Knowledge of measurement, preparation, fluxing and fusing of samples would be an advantage.
