IntroductionArcelorMittal is seeking to recruit an Operator Grade 1 responsible for:
- Commissioning, operating, and decommissioning of the Decanter
- Commissioning, operating, and decommissioning of the Centrifuge
- Commissioning, operating, and decommissioning of the Flake belt
- Collecting samples
- Setting up and tracing process lines
- Operating the RTO
- Grade 12 / NCV 4 (NQF 4/10)
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Coke and Chemical environment
- Good discipline and administrative skills
- Good health
- Ability to work in a team and provide direction
- Willingness to be multi-skilled
- Computer literacy
- Flexibility to work irregular hours as per operational needs

- Supervision of a shift teams in the Iron Making environment
- Ensure plant availability according to set standards
- Safety (total safety system, investigations, audits, test books and equipment)
- Quality assurance (inspections, audits, and corrective actions)
- Communication with personnel from other sections and related functions to ensure optimized productivity
- Continuous improvement of work methods and productivity
- Efficient maintenance teamwork and support
- National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
- Preferably a structured junior management development program
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Understanding the production process and quality parameters
- Good metallurgical/Mechanical knowledge of Production operations and yield optimisation
- Computer literate in MS program SAP and computer literacy
- Sound knowledge of labour relations
- Able to work under pressure
- Drive for results orientated
- Sound communication and negotiation skills
- Highly motivated pro-active and performance drive
- Customer orientated administrative sills
- Good organizing skills
- Leadership skills to manage a divers and motivated team
