The position reports to the Engineering Manager (Fulfillment Operations)

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Root cause analysis of operational issues.
  • Able to independently troubleshoot issues within the team's system.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly operations reports as a result of collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Identify cost-saving areas and system inefficiencies.
  • Identify and action trends within the system.
  • Work with all levels within the business unit to resolve issues.
  • Prepare end-users to utilise the system by conducting training.
  • Provides reference for end-users by contributing to documentation
  • Maintains systems by researching and resolving problems and maintaining system integrity.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by staying abreast of the latest industry trends and reviewing professional publications.
  • Participates in the communication plans and strategies that drive acceptance, speed of adoption, and a platform for expansion into new ideas.
  • Participate in long-term and short-term data analysis, focusing on increasing productivity, lowering fixed and variable costs, and improving customer experience.
  • Measure and report results regularly and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assists more senior operational analysts with investigations

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or any related field, and a minimum of 3 years of operational support experience in a software/technology environment is required.
  • If you do not have a bachelor’s degree or an advanced diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or any related field, an equivalent experience requirement must be met, which equates to a minimum of 5 years of operational support experience in a software technology environment.
  • Good database knowledge, including the ability to write and optimise complex queries.
  • SQL Scripting experience.
  • In-depth understanding of best practices relating to system support and monitoring
  • Understanding and experience in one of the following will be beneficial: Supply Chain & Logistics, Machine learning, Web development, IaaS, PaaS
  • Prior experience within an e-commerce company will be beneficial

Job Purpose

The role of a Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students; student consultations; the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; whilst providing overall support to Academic department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Presenting content in a classroom environment (online or physical, as required)
  • Arranging for consultations with students
  • Results analysis at a modular level
  • Marking assessments and providing constructive feedback
  • Employing interventions for at-risk students
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualifications

- Bachelor's Honours degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

  • Experience

- 1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation

- 1 to 3 years lecturing experience

- Solid understanding of the South African Further Education and Higher Education environment and regulatory framework

- Teaching-Learning theory

- Assessment methods and processes

- Teaching-Learning interventions

- Holistic lecturer and student support services

  • Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions
  • The ability to provide student support services
  • The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms

  • Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations
