About the Role :
As the Open Source Intelligence Specialist, you will :
- Direct and lead the collection of open-source intelligence using cutting-edge tools across the internet, social media, deep and dark web platforms.
- Conduct advanced investigative searches to detect risks including money laundering, terror financing, human trafficking, cybercrime, and cryptocurrency misuse.
- Trace and analyse blockchain transactions, crypto flows, and financial trails using forensic and analytical tools.
- Engage in financial intelligence-gathering activities that feed into broader monitoring, investigation, compliance, and legal enforcement actions.
- Represent the client on domestic and international forums, advising on legal and anti-money laundering matters.
- Provide OSINT advisory support to internal clients (Investigation, Compliance, Legal) and external partners such as HAWKS, Interpol, SARS, and other agencies.
- Testify in legal matters when required
- Mentor junior analysts and act as the technical lead within the OSINT capability.
- Ensure full compliance with legal frameworks and ethical standards in all intelligence-gathering activities.

Our Alliances Sales Directors own a book of business helping to enable Canonical to work with its go to market partners, hardware vendors, software vendors, solutions integrators and distributors and channels. With a fast growing channel business, GSI/SI and Hardware partners, we need to enable, manage and grow business opportunities and drive market expansion alongside revenue growth.
Reporting to the Alliances leadership, you will be working with direct sales, marketing, product, customer success, finance, legal and support as you demonstrate thought leadership, practical skills, and apply your knowledge and experience to help us grow in this critical area.
Our Enterprise Sales Executives own the relationships with our direct customers and are responsible for maintaining and growing relationships that result in mutually beneficial engagements. They help craft solutions that enable our customers to be more efficient, solve more complex problems and walk the path with the customer to get the best possible results.
Reporting to Sales leadership, you will work across either a region or a vertical and you can bring your knowledge of previous customers with you. We are committed to giving customers the most knowledgeable and most competent partners in sales so that we can succeed together.

Advanced knowledge and experience should include: Direct the gathering of information open-source material using specialized technology from various sources including the internet, dark web, deep web, social media platforms and any other place authorized by employer
Your experience should include:
- Include management and leadership responsibilities for work team leaders
- Identify user specifications for the acquisition of technical equipment needed to gather and analyse open-source material relevant to the production of financial intelligence
- Determine, setup, apply and maintain technical equipment to gather open-source material as directed by the employer over a short - to long term duration
- Deploy suitable measures in the information gathering cycle to ensure the employer is not contravening section 60(1) when executing its functions under section 4 (a) of the Act
- Ensure compliance to relevant legislation when gathering information from open source
- Develop and implement SOPs to gather and analyse open-source material relevant to the production of financial intelligence
- Analyse data and produce reports that are relevant to the production of timely financial intelligence
- Apply diagnostic ability to see multiple relationships and make multiple causal links to determine the impact of multiple part chains on events to formulate a hypothesis
- Produce complex reports which contain possible inferences and conclusions for medium term planning purposes
- Lead briefings and presentations with internal and external the employer’s stakeholders and clients
- Disseminate information requested (once it has been approved) as per agreed timelines and specifications
- Ensure aggregation and utilisation of relevant technical equipment’s
- Perform quality assurance tests for ensuring data integrity and quality
- Resolve technical equipment’s problems, queries and error reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Review the production of technical assessments or forecasts from open-source information concerning AML/CFT or proceeds of crime
- Perform technical surveillance countermeasures for the employer
- Support information gathering requirements within the department
- Act as a lead assigning and reviewing work to others
- Conduct training as and when required
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned
Education + Experience needed:
- Relevant University Degree and working towards Postgraduate
- At least six years' experience in a relevant field
- Computer literacy at advanced level
- Completed internal training on systems, policies, procedures
- Proven ability to understand and explain the behaviours of different types of complex organisations, from criminal syndicates to financial enterprises
Proven ability to translate complex information sets into specific recommendations that can be actioned by customers to enhance their financial intelligence operations
- Familiarity with cyber threats, defences, motivations and techniques
- Must have advanced skills to deploy Open-Source technology
- Experience with intelligence analysis tools, methods and the intelligence life cycle
- Experience distilling raw information into actionable financial intelligence
- Ability to maintain or develop professional contacts in the cyber security community and in industries including finance, law enforcement and government
Cyber Security:
- Cyber Security : Understand different operating systems and network security concepts
- Internet capabilities: Understand Domain Name Services (DNS), Transmission Control Protocols over the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Small Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), IMAP, Secure Shell (SSH), Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
- Working knowledge of how malicious code operates and technical vulnerabilities are exploited
- Understand the tactics, tools and procedures used by cyber criminals, especially the dark web and The Union Ring network

We are hiring an Information Systems Architect to define the best practice in infrastructure as code at a global scale. Join us to advance the state of the art, and shape the infrastructure behind tens of millions devices running Ubuntu.
The Information Systems (IS) team is responsible for all IT operations at Canonical, including the infrastructure for building, packaging and distributing Ubuntu globally. As the IS architect, you will own the design of hardware and software implementation from PCI lanes to CDN and everything in between. Our goal is to be a reference operation, using the latest capabilities in Ubuntu and open source more generally, with the most modern operating principles. Your choices will impact the Ubuntu user experience for millions of users, and drive how Canonical's engineers engage with compute and network resources in a devops setting.
As the IS Architect, you'll be in a unique position to improve Canonical products and the open-source technologies they're based on. You do this by leading System Reliability Engineers (SRE) and Data Center Engineers (DCE) to embrace best practices, and make informed decisions on technology choices in all aspects of cloud infrastructure and services. You will coach the IS team on automation, reliability, operational/technical scalability, network infrastructure and security.
This is a home based position, with twice-annual travel to company events totaling around 4 weeks per year.
Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region
The role entails
- Define, get buy-in and implement the holistic vision of a world class internal cloud
- Setup, maintain and update the technical design roadmap and guidelines for the SREs within IS, with the aim of improving reliability, resilience, operational scalability, and technical scalability
- Collaborate with, and provide the cloud-ops software development teams with input for roadmap, requirements and prioritization to build a world-class, highly standardized and automated operation
- Provide the IS management with input and advice with regards to technology, reliability, resilience and business cases
- Lead technical choices to implement solutions as self-service products, ensuring scalable operation
- Collaborate with product security as well as operations security to set best practice and mitigate new threats in a timely manner
- Automate operations for reuse across the world's largest companies, taking into consideration the complexities of distributed systems
- Collaborate with development teams to design service architecture, documentation, playbooks, policies and operational procedures
- Analyze incidents and events, and establish what the reason behind the reasons are, and what structural improvements can be made to minimize the chance of them reoccurring

We are hiring Rust Engineering Leads of all levels of experience to drive the adoption of this exciting language into the full range of Canonical offerings, starting with Ubuntu but also our own projects and open source offerings. Job Purpose
To provide proactive and reactive strategic and operational intelligence reports to domestic and international stakeholders in order to combat money laundering and terrorist financing

To provide proactive and reactive strategic and operational intelligence reports to domestic and international stakeholders in order to combat money laundering and terrorist financing
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Identify user specifications for the acquisition of technical equipment needed to gather and analyse open-source material relevant to the production of financial intelligence.
- Use specialised technology from various sources including crypto asset blockchains, the internet, dark web, deep web, social media platforms and any other place authorised by the FIC to gather the information.
- Determine, setup, apply and maintain technical equipment to gather open-source material as directed by the FIC over a short - to long term duration.
- Deploy suitable measures in the information gathering cycle to ensure FIC is not contravening section 60(1) when executing its functions under section 4 (a) of the Act.
- Ensure compliance to relevant legislation when gathering information from open source and blockchains
- Develop and implement SOPs to gather and analyse open-source material relevant to the production of financial intelligence
- Analyse data and produce reports that are relevant to the production of timely financial intelligence.
- Apply diagnostic ability to see multiple relationships and make multiple causal links to determine the impact of multiple part chains on events in order to formulate a hypothesis.
- Produce complex reports which contain possible inferences and conclusions for medium term planning purposes
- Lead briefings and presentations with internal and external FIC stakeholders and clients
- Disseminate information requested (once it has been approved) as per agreed timelines and specifications.
- Ensure aggregation and utilisation of relevant technical equipment
- Perform quality assurance tests for ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Resolve technical equipment's problems, queries and error reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Review the production of technical assessments or forecasts from open-source information and blockchain platforms concerning AML/CFT or proceeds of crime.
- Perform technical surveillance countermeasures for the FIC.
- Support information gathering requirements within the department
- Act as a lead assigning and reviewing work to others
- Conduct training as and when required
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned
- University Degree with specialisation in Computer or Digital Forensics.
- Working towards Postgraduate qualification in a related field such as computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, public management or criminal justice will be advantageous.
- Six years' experience in cybercrime or cybersecurity investigations relevant field.
- Six years' experience with intelligence analysis tools, methods and the intelligence life cycle
- Skills and knowledge on Blockchain, an Ethereum Java or Python Developer
- Proven ability to understand and explain the behaviours of different types of complex organisations, from criminal syndicates to financial enterprises.
- Certifications in intelligence analysis or specific OSINT tools (i2 Analyst Notebook, i2 Base Essentials, Maltego or TRM Labs) will be advantageous
- Proven ability to translate complex information sets into specific recommendations that can be actioned by customers to enhance their financial intelligence operations.
- Familiarity with cyber threats, defences, motivations and techniques.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and defences, especially related to blockchain applications.
- Must have advanced skills to deploy Open-Source technology from Open-Source Software Platforms (Linux).
- Must have the ability to conduct thorough online research and evaluate the credibility of information sources.
- Must be able to lead a team through project management techniques.
- Cyber Security - Understand different operating systems and network security concepts.
- Internet capabilities - Understand Domain Name Services (DNS), Transmission.
- Control Protocols over the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Small Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), IMAP, Secure Shell (SSH), Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
- Working knowledge of how malicious code operates and technical vulnerabilities are exploited.
- Understand the tactics, tools and procedures used by cyber criminals, especially the dark web and The Union Ring network.
- Produces timely written recommendations and assessments.
- Knowledge in foreign languages is a plus.
