We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Application Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will apply your knowledge as a senior specialist in our Transformers portfolio to serve customers, ensuring mutual trust. You will communicate with customers on technical preferences, provide training, and present Hitachi Energy transformer solutions. Additionally, you will lead regional business development and sales of Transformer solutions, including digitalization, covering the entire digital portfolio, tracking market trends, and securing growth impacts. You will develop and implement a regional sales strategy aligned with global strategies to increase customer penetration through engagement with front-end teams, distribution channels, and promotion of digital and sustainable transformer solutions.

How you’ll make an impact

• Support global transformer strategy and portfolio deployment, focusing on activities from pre-tender/conceptual stages through to post-delivery support.
• Contribute to short, medium, and long-term results by supporting sales and execution teams, including technical tender clarification, order execution, problem resolution, FAT support, and post-delivery technical issues.
• Establish industry-leading technical knowledge by organizing and conducting trainings, webinars, and presentations via Hitachi Energy and industry platforms.
• Translate previous transformer design experience into customer-relevant knowledge.
• Lead regional Application Engineering and Business Development activities, understanding market trends to secure growth.
• Organize and conduct customer technical trainings, attend industry conferences, visit customers, influence specifications, and support tender negotiations.
• Provide internal technical training, customer relationship presentations, and support during FAT and post-order problem solving.
• Develop and deploy KPIs and targets for the transformer portfolio, such as the number of trainings and specifications influenced.
• Follow a structured market plan, combining technical insights with customer needs and deploying a strategic overview.
• Ensure all customer interactions are reported in SFDC and seek support from the M&S team.
• Develop technical presentations and support colleagues with deep topic understanding.
• Support marketing and sales activities with technical knowledge and provide feedback and strategic marketing inputs to GPG/GPMM.
• Engage closely with Application Engineering teams and ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.

Your background

• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical roles related to transformer design and customer interaction, with exposure to sales and order processes a plus.
• Technical skills in transformers and ability to connect technical and marketing teams within the HUB.
• Intercultural sensitivity, with colleagues and customers from multiple countries in the region.
• Willingness to travel approximately 35%.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
