Key Performance Areas:
Chemical Stock Room:
- Ensure chemical storage areas are always neat and tidy.
- Pack stock in relevant / allocated areas when received.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and storage of detergents.
- Keep a record of all stock received.
- Return all empty containers and keep a record.
- Record detergents issued to departments – i.e. Stock Tanks, Spotting Room, Guest Laundry, Garments & Hospitality.
- Weekly stock count – recorded and submitted to GeoChem Management.
In Plant Chemicals - Mixing Tanks, 200lt and 25lt Drums:
- Daily check – ensure chemical mixing tanks and chemical dosing pumps are in good working order. Report any abnormalities and repair if possible.
- Check and ensure chemical stock tanks have sufficient stock to supply the plant – mix stock solution and transfer to holding tank.
- Check all 200lt drum levels and replace where necessary.
- Check all 25lt drum levels and replace where necessary.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices are always followed – discard of empty plastic bags and place empty drums in cage for collection.
- Ensure Health & Safety practices are always followed – wear PPE where applicable.
- Wash and clean chemical mixing tanks at least once a week.
- Chemical dosing equipment needs to be wiped down and cleaned every week.
- Confirm Alkalinity of Stock Solution after every mix and record the result in file.
- Check all feed and delivery chemical lines on a regular basis for leaks / wear and tear. Replace if necessary.
Chemical Flow Rates & Alkalinities:
- Chemical diaphragm pumps – flow rates must be checked monthly and recorded. Any deviation from the required flow rate must be reported immediately.
- Chemical Peristaltic Pumps – flow rates must be done monthly and recorded. Replace worn tubes as and when needed.
- Incoming Recycled Water – PH and alkalinity readings to be done 3 x times daily – and recorded.
Daily Alkalinity Checks CBW's – Alkalinities need to be done daily on both the Garment and Hospitality CBW's and recorded. Any deviation from the standard / required alkalinities must be reported immediately.
Weekly Alkalinity checks – 200kg Milnors. Alkalinities need to be done weekly at the 200kg Milnors and recorded. Any deviation from the standard / required alkalinities must be reported.
- Guest Laundry / Smaller Washer Extractors – Flow Rates and Alkalinities need to be checked and recorded monthly. Replace worn tubes on an as and when needed basis.
General:
- Daily / continuous observation of general quality of the washed linen / garments in the plant. Report any abnormalities immediately.
- Check that machine operators are using the correct wash programs for the classifications processed.
- Regular Reflectometer Readings on linen – to be done and recorded.
- As we (GeoChem (PTY) LTD) are a supplier to the customer – respect, honesty and dedication must be always displayed to the customer and General staff.
Ad hoc Duties:
- To assist with other duties and or technical work off site.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members.
- Experience in the installation and maintenance of laundry dosing equipment.
- Programming of laundry machines.
- The installation of dish machine and chemical dosing units.
- Knowledge of the maintenance and repairs of industrial dish-machines.
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transport.
Computer Literacy:
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office packages (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Intermediate knowledge of virtual programs (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).

Communications Protocol
The MOS shall communicate directly with his Site Supervisor/Senior MOS about service schedules and to ensure that no service shall be extended beyond the agreed period.
On Site Relations
The MOS in general shall undertake to do all maintenance related tasks and to take all steps to enhance the relationship between team members and the customer. In the event of any disagreement between the Parties, the matter shall be dealt with in a higher level meeting, arranged by the Site Supervisor, Account Manager or the Head of Industrial Business. The MOS must adhere to all the legal and OHS rules and regulations stipulated by the mine site. The MOS will comply with the mine's security rules and regulations as imposed from time to time.

MOS shall maintain accurate records of the history of each item/activity/oil analyses of each engine or any other relevant data for future reference of the
mtu
engine fleet as prescribed by the factory, Rolls-Royce Solutions South Africa or customer.The reports shall include and not limited to the following:

engine operating hours per month
-
mtu
engines availability
-
mtu
engine reliability or mean time between failures (MTBF)
-
mtu
engines fuel consumption figures
- Service information including schedule maintenance and corrective maintenance required to ensure availability and reliability of
mtu
engines.
7. Communications Protocol
The MOS shall communicate directly with his Site Supervisor/Senior MOS about service schedules and to ensure that no service shall be extended beyond the agreed period.
8. On Site Relations
The MOS in general shall undertake to do all maintenance related tasks and to take all steps to enhance the relationship between team members and the customer.
In the event of any disagreement between the Parties, the matter shall be dealt with in a higher level meeting, arranged by the Site Supervisor, Account Manager or the Head of Industrial Business.
9.
Laws and regulations
The MOS must adhere to all the legal and OHS rules and regulations stipulated by the mine site.
The MOS will comply with the entire mine's security rules and regulations as imposed from time to time.
Note:-The customer has the right to ensure that Rolls-Royce Solutions South Africa personnel shall punctually observe and comply with these directions, instructions, prescriptions and safety standards.
10. General
You are the direct contact between Rolls-Royce Solutions South Africa and the customer and as our representative, we fully rely on your integrity, support and reliability.
11. Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Millwright
- At least 5 years post qualification experience in Field Service or MOS
- Proven track record as Field Service Mechanic or MOS
- Qualified Fitter will be considered with 5 years MOS experience
- Valid Site medical certificate of fitness
- Computer literacy
