We are seeking a skilled Electrical Draughtsman with expertise in industrial electrical systems to join a dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will specialise in panel design, power distribution, and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), using EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical to deliver precise technical drawings for high-value projects in mining, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
- 5–7 years’ experience in industrial electrical draughting (mining, power, or manufacturing preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical (non-negotiable)
- Proven ability to create SLDs, panel layouts, and cable routing diagrams
- Knowledge of SANS 10142 and municipal regulations
- Advantageous:
- Experience with Revit MEP, SolidWorks, or MicroStation
- Familiarity with HV/MV systems or substation design
- Exposure to BIM coordination
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and draft electrical panels, SLDs, and cable schedules using EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical
- Develop 2D/3D models of LV/MV electrical infrastructure compliant with ISO/SANS standards
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve design challenges and integrate electrical systems with mechanical/architectural plans
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation for procurement and construction
- Conduct site visits to verify design compliance and support installation teams
- Revise drawings to accommodate project changes while adhering to quality controls
