About The Role

Practice Plus Group is a leading provider of urgent care services across the UK, committed to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients when they need it most — outside of regular GP hours.
In OOH we assess and treat patients who require urgent unscheduled intervention suitable for treatment by general practice clinicians when the GP surgeries are closed. Our referrals come from either 111, via a dedicated health care professional line used by paramedics and district nursing teams or from the AED or MIU.
We are looking to expand our team of Face to Face clinicians inbases at Worcester Royal Hospitalor the Alexandra Hospital, as well as v ia home visitswhere appropriate.What you'll be doing
- Deliver comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with urgent healthcare needs.
- Conduct consultations from the clinical base, providing face-to-face care in a fully equipped environment.
- Undertake home visits to patients requiring assessment or treatment in their own residence, offering a personalized and compassionate approach.
- Manage telephone triage, providing expert clinical advice, risk assessment, and directing patients to appropriate care pathways.
- Work autonomously while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, patient-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to Practice Plus Group policies and NHS guidelines to uphold high standards of care.
What we’ll look for in you
- Registered Nurse with MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
- Experience within Out of Hours, Primary Care GP Surgery, or Urgent Treatment Centre
- Holder of V300 / Non-Medical Prescribing qualification and minimum 6 months experience post qualification.
- Ability to autonomously see and treat patients of all ages
- Confident clinical decision-maker with strong assessment skills.
- Excellent communicator with a patient-centred approach.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and committed to ongoing professional development.

What you'll be doing

Our client, a Specialist Oncologist based in Pretoria, is seeking to recruit an Oncology Chemotherapy Nurse who will attend to all the necessary responsibilities with professionalism and excellent patient care.
Requirements:
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and kind manner, whether in person or telephonically.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the chemotherapy unit, including scheduling, staffing, and resource management.
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and other intravenous medications in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor patients during chemotherapy sessions, assessing for adverse reactions and providing appropriate interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about chemotherapy treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes
- Assist in developing and revising patient information documents
- Obtaining and following up medical aid authorizations
- Co-ordinating and managing other registered nurses within the chemotherapy unit
- Chemotherapy room: Cannulation skills, vascular access device skills, calculation of drug dosage, chemotherapy mixing, chemotherapy administration, managing of adverse chemotherapy reactions, management of expired damaged or contaminated drugs, chemotherapy prescription standards, chemotherapy labelling, issuing and transportation, chemotherapy mixing register, management of extravasation, reporting chemotherapy adverse drug events, basic life support, stocking emergency trolley, familiar with chemotherapy drugs and common side effects
- Billing: Correct capturing for billings daily, ordering of necessary consumables, submitting and confirming medical aid authorization
- Quality assurance: participate in continuous practice quality improvement activities, manage patient compliments and complaints
- Safety awareness and risk management: Practice infection prevention and control, adhere to sharps protocol, maintain therapeutically clean and safe working environment, record chemo adverse events, medical waste management protocol adherence, check emergency trolley equipment, compliance and adherence to legislation, POPIA and policy protocols, ensure appropriate resources to prevent treatment delay
- Continued professional development: Keep up to date with practice policies and procedures, assist in mentoring and training of junior staff, participate in unit academics, ensure improvement of knowledge skills and attitudes relevant to oncology practice, practice safely and ethically
Qualification:
- 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in oncology nursing
- Minimum 2 years' experience in chemotherapy administration
- Registered Nurse
- Valid registration with SANC
- Certificate in Oncology will be an advantage
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook proficient
- Familiarity with e-auth / SAOC platforms will be an advantage

Position Purpose
- To be responsible for day to day nursing functions within the sexual reproductive health/primary health care environment.
- Provide Family Planning and Primary Health Care services.
- With a focus on HIV prevention & detection with counselling and referral for treatment.
- This includes physical assessment if STI symptoms are reported and treatment.
- To educate participants and promote health and wellbeing.
Essential duties
- Provide education on sexual reproductive health including
- HIV/TB and STI education to clients.
- Ensure familiarity with local counselling testing and referral guidelines
- Rapid testing for HIV & STIs
- Provide Family Planning counselling & services, perform pregnancy tests as required.
- Follows Family Planning, PACK, Standard Treatment and STI guidelines
- Assess, advise & treat the client needing a prescription.
- Refer to relevant secondary or tertiary hospital as needed.
- Capture data daily on relevant IT program.
- Ensure that consultation rooms have sufficient supplies to run the clinic on each day.
- Order stock monthly from Province.
- Provide stats monthly to DOH.
- Manage medical waste every 2 weeks.
- Monthly checking of emergency trolley and eyewash stations.
- Recording of clinic room temperatures twice a day
Other duties
- Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for clients.
- Works in an ethical manner.
- Assist in maintaining good clinic flow.
- Maintain accurate client records.

- Assist in liaising with pharmacist regarding supply and management of FPC and STI drugs.

Required Experience
- Experience with adolescent health essential
- Training in Contraception including implant insertion would be advantageous
- Experience in Primary Health Care, knowledge of PACK guidelines
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and counseling
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing condition
- Computer literacy with sound knowledge of email, word processing and internet.
- Must be detail orientated.
- Must be able to work as a member of a team
Manual dexterity - Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordinated performance
Physical effort - Work requires handling lightweight materials or equipment with no special speed or exertion.
Working conditions -Office working conditions as well as community visits and clinic working conditions. Willingness to work flexible, adolescent-friendly hours
