Network Operations Solutions Architect
Responsible for all network systems from needs-analysis, through solutions architecture, implementation, and management.
Key responsibilities- Responsible for all network systems from needs-analysis, through solutions architecture, implementation, and management.
- Leading the team in the role of team leader to ensure the individual team members are aligned to each other, and that the team is aligned to both the business strategy and internal and external customers / suppliers.
- Managing team objectives and MOS.
- Create a network operations and systems plan that covers the immediate and medium-term needs.
- Design network systems that deliver effective operational benefit with a direct impact on cost and/or time saving.
- Putting in place and managing the weekly MOS and operational meeting structure for the team.
- Align individual member’s plans and designs to the plan by approving those plans.
- Define and track the key objectives and goals for the team including basic budget.
- Create and present periodic reporting on the team’s performance.
- managing multiple projects in a network operations environment.
- building advanced reports using Microsoft Excel, Smart sheets, and Python.
- leading a cross functional team, guiding them on Planning, organizing, activating, and monitoring cycles.
- Network Engineering and Network Radio frequency experience.
- Skilled in navigating complex situations and scenarios of a technical nature with a business impact.
- Thorough understanding of Networks, systems and how to effectively use it to deliver optimal solutions.
- Thorough understanding of Networks and Network design principles.
- Cross Functional network skills, routing, switching, scripting, and basic development.
- Proven record of accomplishment of network equipment and infrastructure research and implementation.
- A good blend between technology and soft skills.
- Analytical thinking and acumen for problem solving complex challenges.
- Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to others.
- Ability to put information gathered into an executable action plan.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications and courses, as listed below, are highly desirable:

Applications are invited for the Network Operations Solutions Architect position to be based in Stellenbosch.
This person will report to the Head of Technology.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The Network Operations Solutions Architect will be responsible for all network solutions from needs-analysis, through solutions architecture, implementation, and support.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and optimize network and connectivity solutions for customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tailored technical solutions.
- Architect and integrate technologies into cohesive, high-performing solutions
- Translate business requirements into scalable and innovative network products.
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills: - Work Experience and Competencies:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
- Multi-vendor environments, hardware and software.
- Network Engineering and Network Radio frequency experience.
- Documenting solutions and architecture that can be used for implementation and support of the solutions.
- Thorough understanding of Networks, systems and how to effectively use it to deliver solutions.
- Working with Enterprise and SME business customers.
- Analytical thinking and acumen for problem solving.
- Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to others.
- Technology stack experience: SD-WAN, VPN solutions, BGP, Network automation, Network monitoring, LAN management, Enterprise W-LAN, Security solutions, Mobile (LTE&5G).
- Network tools: Monitoring, reporting, scripting languages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications and courses, as listed below, are highly desirable:
Equipment vendor specific qualifications, Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Extreme, Fortinet, HP, Nokia. - Project management qualification.

- Prepare and issue technical guidelines and results of technical studies
- Prepare and issue engineering level and executive-level reports
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma from Engineering Departments relevant to Mobile Telecommunications or Computer Science
- Basic Knowledge on Telecom domain KPIs and Parameters (Radio, Core, Transmission)
- Good level of SQL and ETL platform knowledge, able to write complex SQL queries
- Experience with tools in performance management (Optima/Helix, PrOptima, PRS, Eniq, etc.) is a plus
- Very good command of English
- Must have an excellent customer relationship with both verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with OEM vendor EMS/OSS systems and Managed Objects, parameters and measurements is a plus
