My client based in the North West is looking for a highly motivated and efficient Mining Operations Engineer to support their operations. The Engineer must ensure the integrity of all surface infra structures, fixed and moving machinery inclusive of all electrical machinery and equipment within the area of responsibility of the Mining Operation.
Be the discipline master and custodian of all matters relating to Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM), pressure vessels, piping and valves. The primary focus is competent technical support in mechanical engineering with special emphasis on TMM in a major Open Pit environment.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements :
- Minimum of an Advance Diploma in Engineering
- BSc. Mechanical Engineering qualification an advantageous.
- Government Certificate of Competence Engineering (Mining)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in mining production machinery, equipment and processes
- 5 years as an appointed Engineer in an Open Pit environment.
- Must be experienced in the functionality of mining machinery and equipment.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of minerals, materials, equipment, and personnel to and from mining sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport mineral loads (ore, aggregates, etc.) from mining sites to processing plants or stockpile locations.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, company policies, and mining site rules.
Keep accurate records of trips, fuel usage, and delivery logs.
Operate heavy-duty vehicles such as tipper trucks, flatbeds, or lowbed trailers as required.
Assist with basic loading and offloading when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicles.
Requirements:
Valid South African driver’s license (Code 10 or Code 14) with valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
Minimum of 3 years of driving experience in mining, construction, or heavy logistics sectors.
Knowledge of mining site safety protocols and haul road procedures.
Physically fit and able to work long hours, including occasional weekends or night shifts.
Good communication skills and professional conduct.
High level of reliability and accountability.
