Job Description
The ideal candidate must be confident, responsible, and accountable to take a holistic approach to best memory care outcomes for our 40 residents. While adhering to safety standards you must coordinate the many facets of disease care that go beyond medication. You must have a passion for working with elderly people and have nursing experience with geriatric residents diagnosed with dementia. It is essential that you are amiable to assist our caregivers to fulfil their tasks thus ensuring optimal quality of life for each of our residents.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following key outcomes:
· Confident to take charge of managing the care component for our 40 residents and their pets.
· Independent nurse practitioner who will ensure execution of care expectations for our residents.
· Coordinate the many facets of disease care, including drug interventions as well as nonpharmacologic therapies, like a safe environment, social engagement and other issues that go beyond daily medication.
· Nursing duties within the homely setting of our residents. This is not a hospital.
- Enhance behaviour, cognition, and mood within a safe environment.
· Clinical experience to take responsibility for our residents' medical needs as well as liaison with our resident GP and Pharmacy.
· Maintaining healthy relationships with families of the residents by ensuring effective communication via whatsapp groups and facilitating family support meetings.
· Partaking in interviews with potential residents and their families.
· Completion of assessment of new residents and assistance in settling in.
- Maximize the individual's function in daily activities, promote social opportunities and our activities program as per each resident's interest.
· Full assistance of our capable care givers.
· Enhancing reporting as well as assisting with transition to computerised system during 2023.
· Providing onboarding, job shadowing, and training as required for newly appointed care givers to perform their job-related tasks.
· Providing on the go job-specific training to our care givers.
· Understanding essential HR practices of counselling and disciplinary procedures.
· Ensuring that your sessions and documentation are timeously completed for our Skills Development Program and handout.
· Weekend or longer stand-in when Chief Operations Officer is on leave.
· Weekly feedback to Chief Operations Officer.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Graduate
Pay: R25 000,00 - R35 000,00 per month
