What you'll be doing
As aANP / ACP working inOOH , you’ll betreating patients face-to-face orvia Telephone Triage with theflexibility to choose whether you’d like to do this in one of ourPrimary Care Centres as a base shift, or at thepatient’s ownhome as part of ourhome visiting shifts .

The OOH service is open from 6.30pm – 8am Monday – Friday , and 24 hours over the weekends , with various shifts on offer between these times. You will also have the flexibility to choose when you would like to work in order to fit in with your lifestyle.
We provide thishigh quality care via a skill mix ofGP’s andAdvanced Nurse / Clinical and Paramedic Practitioners supported by anexperienced operational team of shiftCo-ordinators ,Assistants ,receptionists anddrivers . Wehave access to basic day timeGP notes viaGP connect , summary care record, special notes and child protection information sharing. Both thelead nurse andmedical lead work in aclinical capacity as well as amanagerial capacity and areapproachable andsupportive . You will also beusing ourelectronic prescribing system.
We are looking to add to our existing Self Employed workforce but can also offer Salaried and Bank employment options.

What you'll be doing
As a ANP / ACP working in OOH , you’ll be treating patients face-to-face or via TelephoneTriage with the flexibility to choose whether you’d like to do this in one of our Primary Care Centres as a base shift, or at the patient’s own home as part of our home visiting shifts .

Both the lead nurse and medical lead work in a clinical capacity as well as a managerial capacity and are approachable and supportive . You will also be using our electronic prescribing system.

About these roles
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing ahigh standard of culturally safe, direct patient care within the Mparntwe Urgent Care Clinic. Working to the full scope of nursing practice, within acollaborative team, to provide short term, episodic care for urgent conditions that are not immediately life-threatening. The Nurses are responsible for triage, assessment and treatment of patients, as well as providing education and support to patients and theirfamilies.
- Open every day—Mon-Fri 10 am— 6 pm Weekend and Public Holidays 12 pm- 4 pm. Flexible working arrangementsavailable.
- Recent ED and triage experience essential. Upskilling for clinicians looking to transfer to Remote Area Nursing. Team Leader or Masters in relevant field prompts eligibility for N 4 .
Clinic hours are weekdays Monday to Friday 10 : 00 am— 6 : 00 pm & weekends 12 : 00 pm— 4 : 00 pm.

A private hospital, based in Durban, is seeking an Operational Clinical Nurse Specialist within their Theatre who will be required to focus on the delivery of quality competent nursing care. The incumbent acts as a clinical resource and leader in the theatre environment, performing functions at an advanced level competently and consistently.
Sound and contemporary knowledge of the operating theatre, together with an advanced understanding of professional nursing, health care delivery and programme planning, allows the Operational CNS to fulfil the following primary roles:
- Operational management
- Advanced clinical care
- Consultation as a source of expert knowledge
- Clinical teaching of staff and learners
- Research
- Leadership
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Support the Unit Manager in ensuring that the Theatre is providing safe, cost-effective quality patient care in line with the Clinical Governance strategy, evidence-based practice and healthcare research.
- Acts as a shift coordinator
- Responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of competent nursing care Support group quality improvement initiatives that are applicable to the theatre and participate in the process towards compliance to improvement interventions.
- Supports and supervises less experienced staff, acts as a preceptor for new staff, and assists in the clinical teaching of learners
- Provide leadership in the clinical situation, and acts as an influential role model for best competent professional practice
- Contribute to the ongoing research, development and review of best practice in the specialty
- Participate in quality improvement and management initiatives that can be written up into a report and / or presentation
- Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals
- Co-operate and collaborate with other hospital departments to provide appropriate support services.
- Create an environment which stimulates the morale and productivity of employees and drives employee engagement.
- Acts as a resource in the clinical specialty as a result of advanced and broad knowledge and skills in that specialty
- Orientate new staff and students to ensure a detailed understanding of the Theatre environment
- Allocate staff members in a manner that promotes optimal use of staff to provide appropriate skill as required for the booked procedures. / In collaboration with the Unit Manager support the adjustment of staff levels according to theatre utilisation and needs.
- Active involvement in own professional development to maintain a satisfactory level of skill and knowledge
- Keep up to date with the group's evolving policies and procedures
- Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial.
- Develop collaborative relationships to help accomplish work goal
- Maintain and encourage effective communication and interaction within the unit, other members of the multi-disciplinary team and the public.
- Foster good interpersonal relations and public relations while interpreting / applying the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
- Registered as a registered /professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council or equivalent NQF level 7 nursing qualification is required
- A post basic nursing qualification in Operating room nursing, together with contemporary skills and knowledge of that specialty is required
- Thorough knowledge of theatre nursing theory and practice is essential
- Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices in the theatre is essential

- Deliver comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with urgent healthcare needs.
- Conduct consultations from the clinical base, providing face-to-face care in a fully equipped environment.
- Undertake home visits to patients requiring assessment or treatment in their own residence, offering a personalized and compassionate approach.
- Manage telephone triage, providing expert clinical advice, risk assessment, and directing patients to appropriate care pathways.
- Work autonomously while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, patient-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to Practice Plus Group policies and NHS guidelines to uphold high standards of care.
What we’ll look for in you
- Registered Nurse with MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
- Experience within Out of Hours, Primary Care GP Surgery, or Urgent Treatment Centre
- Holder of V300 / Non-Medical Prescribing qualification and minimum 6 months experience post qualification.
- Ability to autonomously see and treat patients of all ages
- Confident clinical decision-maker with strong assessment skills.
