Luxury Lodge in the Magaliesburg area is looking for a Sales & PR Manager.
The candidate will be responsible for driving brand visibility , cultivating key relationships and increasing revenue across all business units, including Corporate, Leisure, Weddings, Day Visits and other offerings.
This dynamic role blends sales outreach, public engagement and brand stewardship to position the establishment as a premier destination within the tourism and hospitality sector.
The incumbent will manage all advertising and communication strategies (both digital and print), manage relationships with media houses, tour operators and industry associations and ensure the seamless coordination of promotional events , trade shows , and functions . They will also play a key role in shaping public perception by responding to guest feedback , managing PR content and ensuring consistent messaging across platforms.
This role requires proactive stakeholder engagement , excellent communication and negotiation skills, creative campaign ideation and the ability to manage multiple moving parts , from budgeting and rate negotiations to overseeing external marketing arms and maintaining up-to-date collateral and digital assets . The Sales Manager will serve as the voice and face of the brand , charged with building trust , enhancing guest experience and driving occupancy and revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives and impactful public relations efforts.
The ideal candidate should preferably be willing to live on site , with an ongoing presence to manage and monitor operations in conjunction with senior leadership.

Candidates with conferencing experience in a lodge or hotel in Gauteng are preferable and this will carry significant weighting for the ideal candidate.
Experience must also include:
Sales & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong background in negotiating rates (e.g., STOs and FITs), securing partnerships with tour operators and OTAs, and managing client-facing roles at trade shows, corporate functions, and educational site inspections.
Public Relations & Media Liaison: Preferably skilled in building media relationships, creating compelling content for press releases and promotional campaigns, and managing both reactive and proactive public communications.
Digital & Print Advertising: Hands-on experience with campaign planning, content briefing to graphic designers, media placement, and managing mailers and social media content across platforms.
Event Management & Guest Relations: Experience in coordinating and attending events (e.g. weddings, golf days, trade shows), conducting welcome briefings for corporate groups, and ensuring guest satisfaction through timely follow-ups and feedback management.
Reporting & Analysis: Competence in compiling marketing reports, analysing guest origin and segmentation data, and contributing to annual marketing plans and budgets.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate initiative, creativity, and exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask across various campaigns and channels, ensuring alignment with brand standards and strategic business objectives.

Role Summary:
The Communications Manager (Africa) is responsible for assisting the region head in developing, planning, and executing comprehensive communications strategies and plans. In addition to offering strategic communications advice, the manager works closely with the global communications team to co-create regional strategies, plans, and initiatives that align with and support the worldwide communications priorities. The primary focus is to strengthen the foundation’s visibility, voice, and reputation.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop a regional communications strategy – short and long term – that aligns with, supports, and builds upon the objectives and goals of the global communications strategy. Adopting communication strategies according to cultural, context and regional/country audiences.
- Media Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with key local journalists, particularly those covering the nonprofit and healthcare sectors. Responsibilities include writing press releases, talking points, and Q&A documents, crafting compelling narratives, and positioning the regional head and colleagues as subject matter experts.
- Content Creation: Collaborate with the global communications team to create engaging and impactful content for multiple communications channels and audiences, including supporting site visits, writing patient and physician stories for Max Insider, capturing cell phone photos and video clips, and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with region head and global communications team to develop communications and engagement strategy that will strengthen relationships and elevate awareness/reputation of Max at the country level and across the region. Key external audiences include partner physicians, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals; hospital administrators and key staff; and key positions within local ministry of health, public institutions and multi-lateral representatives.
- Vendor Management: Identify and manage external vendors, such as professional photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to support implementation of communications strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or relevant certification preferred, in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, Psychology/Sociology, or related disciplines.
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience in the global health nonprofit sector, communications, public relations, journalism, and/or social media. Previous work experience in public relations/advertising agencies, healthcare, and/or nonprofits, is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to make critical decisions.
- Experience working in a global and multicultural capacity across time zones and among a diverse team.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; written and verbal fluency in French, Spanish, or another language, a plus.
