Job Description
You will be required to execute the creation process for all vendor types (excluding bank validations, sundry, and marketing vendors), which involves releasing questionnaires and providing assistance to ensure completion.
More of your responsibilities will include:
- Administering the release of registrations and approving them for potential vendors invited to participate in tenders
- Collaborating with Treasury to review the accuracy of vendor banking details
- Validating the accuracy of vendor data, including data interfacing with other systems
- Developing and overseeing the vendor onboarding process, ensuring alignment of data
- Implementing and managing a comprehensive training program for all vendors, keeping them informed of updated work methodologies
- Facilitating the seamless integration of new online Master Data Management (MDM) forms into the system
- Maintaining vendor records, ensuring annual updates or as needed (e.g., BEE credentials, VAT, contact details)

The position of Business Data Steward is vacant. The Business Data Steward will report directly to the Senior Manager: Data Analytics and forms part of the Research and Development Division. The position is based at Head Office in Pretoria.
The total remuneration package will be between R909,457 and R1,136,890 per annum, based on skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Business Data Steward will be required to perform the following functions within the Research and Development Division under the supervision of the Senior Manager: Data Analytics through the implementation of the following:
- Partner with business data owners to drive adoption of data governance best practices and embed a culture of data centricity across day-to-day processes
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Scheme's data in line with the Data Management and Analytics Strategy
- Identify, document and implement data requirements and specifications; collaborate with ICT on implementation
- Develop and implement procedures for effective data management, including data quality, metadata, reference and master data
- Establish and manage processes for data issues and queries management in line with data quality standards and guidelines
- Ensure data security and compliance with applicable policies, POPIA and regulations; manage data requests in line with data sharing SOPs
- Conduct regular data profiling, audits and lineage assessments to identify quality gaps; monitor Data Quality KPIs (completeness, uniqueness, timeliness, validity) and drive remediation with owners
- Develop monitoring reports and dashboards to track the implementation and effectiveness of data management recommendations
- Develop and maintain technical guidelines, SOPs and documentation for data governance, analytics and utilisation
- Consult with technical, operational and coding stakeholders to enhance data availability, quality, usage tools and methodologies

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Degree - Business Analysis, Data Management, Economics, Accounting, Operations, Administration, Information Systems or Engineering
- Preferred Qualification: Business Analysis or Data Management certification, or an Honours degree in the above fields
- At least 5 years' experience in business analysis, data management or analytics in the financial services industry
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as a Data Management Analyst, Governance Analyst, Data Steward or similar role
