Your Role at Impact:

The marketing department is looking for an experienced marketing operations specialist to join our marketing team in Cape Town. The role plays a vital role in supporting and optimising the operations of the social media, design, seo, publishing, and dev teams.

This role ensures smooth execution of marketing initiatives through rigorous project coordination, effective communication, and process-driven task management. The position enables team efficiency, quality delivery, and strategic alignment with marketing goals in a fast-paced, high-growth B2B SaaS environment.

The position requires someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is a people person who enjoys working in a large team, prides themselves on being deadline-driven, has a strong background in marketing, and a passion for ops and/or project management.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of social media, design, seo, publishing and dev teams, including status updates, project plans, and stakeholder communications.
  • Administer and optimise task management systems (e.g., Asana) to maintain clear workflow visibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across time zones to support project delivery.
  • Support the publishing team by updating web content, ensuring SEO and design best practices.
  • Build and streamline workflows and team communications from the ground up to support the design, social, web dev, and seo teams.
  • Build basic reports to gain project-level insights for improvements
  • This role reports to the Associate Manager of Marketing Operations.
  • Timely delivery and tracking of projects and tasks across multiple marketing functions.
  • Well-maintained and transparent task/project management boards with clear ownership and priorities.
  • Increased efficiency and reduced blockers across multiple workstreams.
  • Clear, actionable reporting on team performance and project status.

Experience

Minimum/Ideal

  • 5 years in a similar role, with 10 -15+ years of experience in marketing operations or related roles within high-growth or complex organizations.
Qualifications (Minimum)
  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Systems Analysis
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
  • Advanced Diploma in Project Management or Business Management
Knowledge

Minimum/Ideal

  • Proven expertise in marketing operations with a clear understanding of the Creative and Comms strategy process
  • Expertise in marketing technology platforms, including CRM and automation tools
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in data management, segmentation, and reporting.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a track record of streamlining processes and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing best practices, compliance regulations, and emerging trends.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and focused on execution and continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct formal annual category, brand and product plans to achieve financial and growth and Profitability/GP
  • Create, plan, manage and execute campaigns to achieve category and brand plans
  • New Product development - Research and monitoring of market trends and competitor strategies, whilst driving the NPD process, ensuring success from concept to actual launch implementation Identify and introduce innovative ingredients, packaging, technologies, products, concepts and ideas that are commercially viable
  • PLM and Stock management, ensure efficient stock planning and stock movement in collaboration with Procurement and Operations Department including:
  • Manage and guide annual growth targets and forecasts by brand and SKU
  • Ensure sufficient promotional activity and innovation to drive required stock turn
  • Ensure stock is cleared prior to ageing / expiry
  • Manage product costing effectively within required purchasing and packaging parameters and partner and communicate/negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers
  • Manage supplier relationships with regards to Agreements, Processes and Business requirements
  • Ensure all products are legal, compliant and appropriate for Exports and CAMS, focusing on labels and ingredients
  • Project management
  • Lead, manage and develop people within the Department
  • Improve and implement efficient systems and processes

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Strategic approach

  • A post Grade 12 (Degree or similar) qualification is a requisite and RPL will be taken into account
  • A proven track record of at least 5 years in a similar role
  • FMCG or luxury brand experience
  • Strong Negotiating, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Able to coach, manage and grow people.
  • Ability to deal with variety of people in a customer orientated, friendly manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills on office administrative packages (incl. Outlook, MS Word, Excel) and ERP system
  • Ability to agree and achieve deadlines and function in stressful environment
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and deadlines
  • Flexibility in respect of time and mobility
  • Valid driver’s license
