Develop, evaluate, plan and issue technical work instructions in a CNC machining environment. Confer with management, manufacturing engineers and employees concerning product design, materials, and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Experience with manufacturing engineering with regards to CNC Machining and processing is preferred.
Technical aptitude in writing work instructions, procedures, manuals for manufacturing processes.
Experience with Microsoft Office Products and technical computer software.
Working knowledge of blueprints, geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing, government and aerospace mil specs and standards.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency. A medium sized company currently looking to recruit a factory manager to run the packing operations of the business.
Skillset required:
- Must have extensive knowledge in packaging machinery and production lines in particular volumetric filling machines, labelling machines and general processing.
- Must be a problem solver with a technical mind
- Must be able to manage a break down on a machine either personally or the ability to outsource and coordinate a repair
- Good planning skills
- Good at mathematics and calculations

- Able to run and coordinate a team of 4 – 6 packers and 6 – 8 admin staff

Roles and responsibilities :
- Work closely with the orders clerk who receives all non retail orders as well as the CEO who keeps track of retail orders. Plan production according to stock on hand versus orders and the forecast. This plan must be done up to 2 weeks in advance and take into account promotional bumper orders.
- Ensure the production plan is communicated to the production team and the warehouse and monitor to ensure no mistakes are made with the pre production planning and actual production
- Take regular walk abouts during the day to ensure management presence is felt in the production area.
- Ensure production is setup and runs smoothly according to targeted outputs
- Ensure batch codes and expiry codes as well as bar codes match the product being packed.
- Plan the distribution splits of finished good stocks to the various external warehouses. • Ensure annual maintenance is carried out on machines as well as attend to emergency break downs.
- Ensure high level ordering is done personally.
- Work with Supergroup who are our 3rd party warehouser and distributor of honey.
- Communicate any issues to the CEO that requires his intervention or any foreseeable issues.
- Work with the orders clerk to ensure local distribution done in house is executed on time and in full. Either by own driver and vehicle or through Value Truck Hire.
- Manage raw material stocks and ordering
- Facilitate disciplinary action against employees like disciplinary hearings and / or warnings. The CEO will be able to help with this process.
- Coordinate monthly stock counts and reports
- Provide reporting and feedback to the CEO
