Accountant – Manufacturing Industry (Bellville, Cape Town)
Are you a hands-on Accountant with strong manufacturing industry experience? Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join their finance team based in Bellville, Cape Town.
This is a permanent role offering long-term growth opportunities, exposure to operations, and the chance to make a real impact in a high-performing environment.
Responsibilities- Full accounting function including reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
- Manage stock processes, including monthly stock counts .
- Walk the plant, review processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and budget support.
- Perform intercompany transactions, fixed asset control, payroll validation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Stand in for the Financial Manager in meetings when required.
- Collaborate across all levels of staff – from the CEO to operational teams.
- B.Com degree in Finance/Management Accounting (Honours/CIMA/CA(SA) advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years’ accounting and reporting experience .
- Manufacturing industry experience is essential .
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel (pivot tables, large data sets).
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, internal controls, and production accounting.
- High energy, able to work independently, proactive, and hands-on.
- Comfortable working in the plant environment (walking, stairs, safety boots, early mornings).
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to interact at all levels.

This role forms part of a high-performing team responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, statutory compliance, fixed asset management, and treasury oversight. Based in Canelands, Cape Town
Key Qualifications- 3+ years’ experience in general ledger and financial accounting
- BCom Accounting (SAICA-accredited)
- Advanced Excel and Syspro experience essential
- Background in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
- Maintaining the General Ledger and ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
- Managing the Fixed Asset Register across multiple plants
- Preparing weekly cashflow forecasts and reconciling actual vs projected movements
- Reviewing and submitting statutory returns (VAT, EMP201, IT14SD) and liaising with SARS
- Handling foreign exchange documentation and reporting
- Overseeing banking functions, including payment release and stakeholder liaison
- Supporting audit processes and responding to internal/external audit requests
