DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMIYTED TO:
- Ensure quality control procedures are in place and monitor compliance on all incoming and outgoing farm products
- In consultation with managers monitor product quality and safety day to day according to established standards.
- Ensure all produce leaving the farm meets EU and/or USDA standards and regulations.
- Ensure product sampling procedures and schedules are in place and adhered to.
- Receive, interpret and communicate microbiological and chemical analysis results. Implement product quarantine, systems reviews and product recalls if and when necessary.
- Ensure that all products are correctly identified, labelled and packaged according to Eu and/or USDA standards.
- Be responsible for traceability and the management and maintenance of all records relating to this.
- Reporting the performance of Quality functions / data.
- With assistance from the relevant managers, ensure maintenance schedules are well designed, adhered to and documented, ensure specialist equipment is calibrated correctly.
- Assist the relevant managers to ensure a safe working environment and adhere to Company Health & Safety Policy. Assist with the relevant record keeping.

Core Technical Delivery:

- Contribute to discussion on relevant QA topics and communicate closely with other departments.
- Participate in the investigation of incidents, OOS, deviations, discrepancies, root cause investigations or test failures as required.
- Support allocated operational areas by participating in the implementation of change control.
- Participate in Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions (CAPA) in order to meet compliance requirements.
- Review, approval and closure of incidents in accordance with SOP.
- Review, approval and closure of deviations and escalating to QA Operations Lead where relevant.
- Review, approval and closure of change control for quality and regulatory compliance impact and determine requirements for implementation.
- Review, approval and closure of MDDs and OOSs in accordance with SOP.
- Participate in risk assessments and ensure mitigations are efficacious.
- Ensure risk actions identified are closed timeously.
- Assist in vendor auditing when required.
- Perform internal audits as required, generate reports and follow up for close out of findings.
- Support QA department with Regulatory audits and other 3rd party audits.
- Ensure deep and holistic understanding of allocated area(s) of responsibility to ensure effective closure of critical auditing findings on site.
- Ensure or develop understanding of processes in areas of responsibility to be able to review and sign off quality related documentation, such as SOPs, WI, etc.
- Review batch records for compliance and adherence to GMP.
- Perform QA checks in areas of responsibility and ensure that observations are documented and followed up.
- Review and approve SOPs for responsible areas.
- Review job descriptions of staff within area of responsibility.
- Analyze and write regular trend reports.
- Conduct Quality Forum meetings within area(s) of responsibility.
- Assist in product quality reviews when required.
- Participate in projects as and when required.
- Review and assess incidents raised.
- Review and approval of effectiveness checks.
- Labelling of product/material that is suspect according to internal procedures.
- Ensure overdue QMS documents are followed up timeously and actioned.
- Lead complex deviations/investigations on site to ensure adequate root cause and CAPA identification.
- Providing training on GMP relevant aspects e.g., Quality Events, Change controls, CAPAs and Risk Management
- Review effectiveness of the QMS to ensure the system remains in compliance.

- Implement, verify and maintain records of the QMS internal audit program and follow-up records, of internal audits.
- Analyse data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement and from other relevant sources.
- Create reports documenting corrective and preventative actions and continual improvement of the QMS.

Joining our dynamic and collaborative software development team as an experienced QA Engineer, in this contract role, you will play a critical role in championing quality across our products.
Responsible for assisting with designing, developing, and executing sophisticated automated test strategies, you will help to mentor other QA team members and drive the continuous improvement of our quality processes within our agile environment.
Your main objective is to assist the quality assurance efforts by helping to design, build, and maintain complex and robust test frameworks. Deliver Working Software
- Define, implement, and evolve the overall test strategy for our products, ensuring comprehensive test coverage

- Author and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases (manual and automated) to test desktop, web, and mobile applications
- Set up, execute, and analyse performance and load testing scenarios to ensure application scalability and stability

Team Collaboration and Participation
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria

Are you a Quality Assurance professional with a passion for excellence and compliance in the pharmaceutical sector? Our client, a reputable player in the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Pharmacist to oversee and manage all aspects of their Quality Management System (QMS).
This is a critical leadership role focused on ensuring GxP compliance, supporting continuous improvement, and instilling a strong quality culture across the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance System Oversight
- Review, revise, and authorise departmental SOPs
- Manage full QA function including :
- Document control, Site Master File, Quality Manual & Policy
- Validation Master Plan implementation
- Internal & external audits and deviation tracking
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPAs & Change Control
- Product Quality Reviews and Quality Management Review meetings
- Supplier approvals and quality agreements
- Non-conformances, Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations, and ADR reporting
- Implementing and monitoring Stability Master Plan and pest control programme
Product Complaints & Recalls
- Investigate and resolve product quality complaints
- Ensure full batch traceability for effective recall procedures
Returned / Rejected Goods
- Proper handling of returned or rejected goods
- Decision-making on re-testing, re-packing, or destruction
GMP / GWP / GHP Compliance
- Conduct third-party audits
- Ensure compliance across storage, transport, packaging, and destruction of medicines
- GMP training and internal audits
- Batch quarantine, sampling, release, and documentation
Training & Team Support
- Ensure continuous GxP and SOP training for all departments
- Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and compliance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Registration
- B.Pharm Degree
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- Proven experience in document control, SOP management, and working with South African regulatory requirements
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient in cGxP regulations
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Strong command of English & Afrikaans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail, ethical, and deadline-driven
- Ability to perform under pressure and collaborate across departments
