A leading manufacturer in plastic extrusion and injection moulding , is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to join their dynamic operations team in East Rand, Gauteng . With a reputation for high-quality production and innovative design, they are looking for a hands-on, technically skilled leader with a strong background in plastics or high-speed manufacturing. Duties & Responsibilities Oversee all facility infrastructure including compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and transformers Manage preventative and reactive maintenance on AC/DC motors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, and panel wiring Perform expert-level PLC and VSD/VFD programming and troubleshooting Lead and manage a skilled team of 7 maintenance technicians Execute preventative maintenance systems and fault elimination strategies Conduct root cause analysis and ensure uptime of equipment across injection moulding and extrusion lines Drive health & safety compliance across facilities and utilities Minimum Requirements Proven experience in a similar facilities or maintenance management role Expert-level knowledge of electrical panel wiring, PLC/VSD fault-finding, and industrial utilities Background in plastics manufacturing (extrusion and/or injection moulding highly preferred) FMCG manufacturing background will be considered Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead both operationally and strategically Relevant trade certificate or technical qualification required Ready to take the lead at one of SAs top manufacturing facilities? Position Purpose:
SPARK Schools inside facilities maintenance staff ensure that the school building is well maintained and clean. Inside facilities maintenance staff are integral to the SPARK Schools "culture" and our commitment to providing a world-class learning environment for our scholars.

Requirements
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the upkeep of the school building, gardens, and grounds
  • Report facilities maintenance issues to school leadership and assist with repairs where applicable
  • Ensure that the school premises are safe for students, staff and parents
  • Assist with welcoming students during daily arrivals and dismissals, as required by school leadership
  • Manage tools and equipment, reporting any damaged or lost items to school leadership for fixing or replacement
  • Assist with ad-hoc operational tasks, such as moving furniture, working with maintenance and gardening suppliers, or setting up for events
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with school staff, parents, and other stakeholders as required
  • Participate actively in staff development opportunities as a member of the SPARK Schools team
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all SPARK Schools events and to all stakeholders

Qualifications/Criteria:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • English language fluency

  • Previous maintenance and/or grounds keeping experience
  • Clear/Clean Criminal Record
  • Grade 12 certificate

Administration

  • Coordinate with P&C on employee matters including recruitment.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards.

  • Act as liaison between engineering, operations, and management.

Performance & Quality Assurance:

  • Track KPIs like uptime, defect rates, and system performance.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting tools.
