Caretaker / General Worker – Martindale
We are looking for a reliable Caretaker / General Worker to join our team at Martindale Varsity Lodge. This is a live-in position (accommodation provided on site, single occupancy only).
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and security of the premises, including locking windows, doors, and gates.
- Be available after hours and on weekends for emergencies or student-related issues.
- Carry out general maintenance (painting, plumbing, repairs, upkeep of grounds).
- Cleaning duties (passages, windows, external areas, bins).
- Monitor contractors and assist with inspections.
- Report defects, damages, or irregularities to the Property Manager.
Requirements:
- Practical knowledge of general maintenance and repairs.
- Responsible, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to be available after hours and over weekends.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete inspection/maintenance reports.
- Valid driver's license (advantageous).
Conditions:
- Must reside on-site (accommodation provided at no cost).
- No family members may stay on site.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00, with 24-hour availability for incidents.
