Logistics Specialist
Job Purpose
- Manage end-to-end logistics processes, from order confirmation to delivery and returns, using Bayer analytics tools such as SAP, TMS, Smart Center, and Four Kites.
- Coordinate with internal teams, direct customers, and 3PL providers to ensure timely and efficient logistics activities.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead and optimize logistics operations for timely and cost-effective product delivery.
- Analyze logistics performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Execute TMS planning, including cost, vehicle, and route optimization, as well as turnaround time management and communication.
- Create shipments in TMS and manage delivery confirmations with commercial teams, customers, and 3PLs.
- Ensure accurate freight carrier information in TMS, validate freight bills against SAP, and submit documents for invoicing.
- Maintain and update rate cards in TMS regularly.
- Coordinate inter-facility stock transfers for seed and crop protection products.
- Consolidate daily VLO60 reports and share with relevant teams.
- Manage delivery confirmation processes and monitor EDI flows between 3PLs and Bayer systems.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Conduct inventory reconciliations with 3PLs and analyze inventory data for trends and issues.
- Monitor logistics KPIs such as vehicle utilization, TMS adoption, and delivery adherence.
- Ensure all delivery documentation, including PODs and GRNs, are captured in TMS and processed promptly.
- Coordinate return processes to ensure credits are processed within 48 hours.
- Utilize Bayer analytics tools for transportation management, shipment tracking, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in warehouse and distribution activities.
- Liaise with vendors and evaluate service levels.
- Support customer complaint investigations and perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Minimum 3 years experience in distribution, warehousing, import/export, or logistics.
- Degree or diploma in supply chain management, logistics, IT, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles and practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of seed and agricultural chemicals is advantageous.
- Fluent in English; additional languages like Afrikaans are a plus.
- Results-oriented with the ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team.

Customers

Role Overview
The Fleet Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a structured, disciplined fleet management operation, with regular on-site management to ensure drivers are performing to high standards and meeting KPIs.
