Our client is looking for a Logistics Consultant with client interaction and a strong analytical background to join their Gauteng Team.

Duties & Responsibilities

The position involves overseeing franchise and driver performance, ensuring operational compliance, and reporting. Responsibilities include understanding operational levers, training and enforcing SOPs, contributing to SOP improvement, maintaining service levels, monitoring branch adherence to agreements and KPIs, managing weekly KPIs, conducting audits, and traveling as needed. Additionally, addressing key branch tracking metrics related to driver growth, performance, complaints, and customer satisfaction, and compiling weekly reports for feedback and action are essential tasks.

Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Completed Diploma or Degree in Logistics
  • 5 years experience in a client-facing role in an operational environment or similar
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Training experience in an operational setting will be advantageous
  • IT or tech savvy will be advantageous (Strong Excel skills)
  • Valid driver’s license

My client, a transport and logistics company specialising in the movement of bulk, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), containerised and palletised goods, is seeking to employ a Transport Broker / Logistics Consultant with 2-4 years' experience in the transport industry and a relevant qualification.

The successful candidate will have to negotiate sales deals and rates with customers as well as suppliers, meet budget and margin targets while proactively communicating with suppliers to transport goods effectively and efficiently to customers. An in depth knowledge of the road transport industry is required, and an existing customer book would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, including regular visits.
  • Negotiating new contracts.
  • Negotiate transport rates with clients and transporters.
  • Manage volumes allocated to the company.
  • Understand the running cost of a vehicle to determine CPK’s.
  • Analyse commodity trends and adapt to market fluctuations.
